Did he say why he was switched, and were any others switched? I am hoping for my first letter tomorrow (from 818), but right now have no idea how things are going.

Hi CBsMOm I got letter from my son on Thursday actually 2 and also I found out that he was switch from 818 to 819 He didn't mention to me why but his girlfriend told me that they switch him at the beginning of bc. Now am a DIV 819 mom

He said that BC was more harder that he expected however told me that he will push till the end. I can see the difference in his way of thinking between the first and second letter and that he started to appreciate what he have, specially family :) It's an adjustment and as he said The Evolution of a new Me.

He mention that Monday they will be removing his Teeth, all four, he was kind of afraid however told me not to worry,  they made him rest for 2 complete day after that.

They send letter on Sunday

Just wanted to let all of you know that in the letter I received from my SR yesterday...he said they are scheduled for phone calls on Aug 2nd. He said around 5:00 pm. I don't know if that is the time he is scheduled to call or if he meant that was the time the division would get to start calling. He said right now...they have an hour, but he said that could change depending on how well they do this week. I am sure hoping they do good..gonna say a prayer!
Thanks for the info
Thank you for the information, Cranny =) I was hoping, and actually guessing, it'd be this weekend, but I was close! I think calls usually do start later in the afternoons...? At least that is what I see the most online. Thanks again!
Got a letter yesterday from my SR.  YAY!  It was short & sweet.  He misses Sunday donuts and coffee so that is is one request when we come to PIR.  He mentioned that it took a week & a half for processing, but they are finally moving - getting up at 0430 for the pool work outs.  Hoping all of you are receiving letters soon, too!  No mention of phone calls...we'll see what happens.  I won't count on anything and as we see, things have a way of changing!
Thanks, Cranny, for the info about calls slated for Aug. 2. I'm so afraid I'll miss his call!  I must have reread his letter about a dozen times by now and I'm thankful how upbeat he sounds even though he says the extra workouts are grueling.  Thanks to everyone for posting-it makes it easier to know I'm not alone!

Good morning all.  I'm new to the group and first want to tell everyone thank you for all the information and encouragement you've unknowingly provided me in the past couple of weeks.  My SR is also in DIV 819 and I was lucky enough to speak with him on the phone for a couple of minutes on Tuesday this past week.  He was needing some medical records sent to them and even though the call was brief, it was so good to hear his voice.  He did say that they should start getting their phone calls this Tuesday if everything went right.  I also got my first letter on Thursday!  It was the funniest thing because my daughter called me at work to let me know it was here and because I couldnt wait till five, I took a late lunch and drove home to read it!!!!  Cried happy tears all the way back to work..lol.  I do have one question....in his letter he said that he was the Religious P.O. of the Div. and led prayer every night.  Since I'm still learning what all the acronyms stand for, I'm assuming that P.O. stands for Prayer Officer???  Anyway, I'm really happy to be a part of this group and look forward to visiting with all of you.  I have to agree with another comment that was made on here......its nice to know that I'm not alone!  Thank you again!

Phone calls are not a given at any time and can be given and taken away.  Do not count on them that way you are not disappointed if they do not happen, be thrilled when they do happen. If by chance you do miss a call it is not the end of the world, even though it may seem like that.  After BC the communication will improve dramatically, hang on it does get better.

My son is is going for rescue swimmer. He says everything is going good

Hi CBsMom it's al0251 again  my son is going to Pensacola for Rescue Swimmer Job. I understand that the 819 div  is for those recruit that are going for those kind of job. Are you going to PIR? I  am already booking my car, hotel Ramada and airfare. We will keep in touch. I got letter from my son today. he was in SIQ (Sick in quarter )for 2 days because his teeth, he had plenty of time to rest and write , he said that the Div is coming along as a team they all support each other :)
