Just wanting to touch base with any other mom's whose child is leaving on that day for boot camp.  I would like to have other mom's to talk to and compare notes with that are going to be going through the same thing at the same time.

One thing that is also helping is that I starting writing him a letter and putting a paragraph or so in every day of what is happening at home, etc.  That way I don't forget when I get to send him his first letter and it is nice and long for him.  I'm still waiting for his address information, but I know it will be coming soon.
We should be getting our packages around the same time. Keep me updated and I will keep UN updated.
Hi everyone! Thought you all might be wondering about what they are doing right now. First of all they are doing a lot of marching from one building to another. They are recieving clothes,  hair cuts, shots, and of course the box! The first 24 to 36 hours is rough. Not to make you worry because they do have a method to the madness! They will be kept up for the first 48 hours (they will find ways to get little cat naps in) They do this to gain complete controll over them, and this is when true friendships really start forming. This is the first steps on learning to count on eachother for support. Try not to worry! I am missing my son like crazy, thank God his brother called today to remind me that he survived boot camp and that Josh will too! Hang in there the letters will start coming in about a week or so. Start looking forward to the letter that has a tentative pir date and a address!!  I also wanted to tell you that when my first son went through it was at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just knew they would get a phone call and I hung on to the phone 24 hours a day.......very dissapointed! Phone calls are extremely rare, maybe 1 the entire time maybe 2. I don't mean to dissapoint you, but i knew how i felt and i just wanted to give you a heads up.  Take care!!!

Watch these bootcamp videos - you'll have a pretty good idea what they will be doing. There at five of them.

Here are the five videos as part of the RETURN TO BOOTCAMP series. Please note if you are watching this for the first time, it may take 30 seconds or more to upload the file to your computer - be patient.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Hello -

My daughter left for Bootcamp on August 2nd.  We are from Maine.  I can't wait to receive our packet to know what division she is in.  She is 19 and graduated this year and it was difficult to put her laundry away today.  She is my only child and I am so proud of what she is doing.  The information on this site is helpful!

Got my letter yesterday - I was thrilled.  My son sounds like he is doing fine.  I'm sending out my letter to him today.  He is in Ship 02 Div 946.  Any others out there in this group?
My daughter is 02 946...yea one week down

One week - 7 to go - not that I'm counting!! :-)

Sure I will do it.

Yep I did it.  Thanks!!!

Did I do it wrong?  I went to the groups page and added the group there.  If you can send me a message and let me know so that it is in the right place and people can find it easily.  Thanks Lemon!!
