My son is also in this Div - welcome!

Yep, my son as well...thanks Kris for the suggestion.

So we are all missing our boys tonight! Getting ready to send 5 letters tomorrow!

Mine is also in this group!!!

Did you all get a personal note from your SR's? Mine sounded pretty stressed!
I got "the box" on Friday but still haven't gotten the form letter.  Committed to writing everyday...I hope he enjoys it...have found that it is really helping me as well...tonight he is getting the entire "Great Food Race" episode...we watched it together on Sunday nights before he left...Thank you Moms for being here...so look forward to your posts...
I got the form letter today.  He sounded great...made a few jokes about getting shots and how much money he had already spent on uniforms.  He mentioned the Petty Officers were fine and that they had only gotten in trouble once when two recruits laid on their bunks without permission.  Apparently that required the whole division to strip and re-make their beds for two hours...bet that doesn't happen again.  Wow...that helps so much...

Jokes and a sense of humor are so important ... I think humor is a great coping mechanism.  My son's 3 line note said:

"This place is great! It's like an all inclusive resort; free meals, planned days, personal trainers ... Club Fed."

I can't wait to talk to him.

I am sorry you are not having a good day.  Just think our sons are safe...we know exactly where they are...they are getting stronger both physically and mentally every day...we will do this with a smile on our faces because we are mothers and that's what we do...Writing him a lot has really helped me...also cleaning...my house has never been so organized and clean...HAHAHAHAHA
I got my box on Friday and my letter on saturday. He didn't really sound stressed... he said it was hard but he was getting used to it. What I don't understand is his PIR date... we had it figured for the following week... Any ideas?
We had it figured for the following week also, but I have read online that many people were surprised by the PIR date. We were supposed to be in italy until the 16th (our 20th anniversary), but we are now scrambling to change our return date!
oh noo... kjkooz... and here I was pouty about missing the Navy Ball... I am so sorry. Can you go earlier or later...
