Michigan, I am not sure what all has to be completed but I know my SR learned everything he need to reach that in the DEP he had only one for set of information to memorized and then took a written test and a physical.  Yours may have or will soon reach E2 I am sure.  Can not wait to meet you.  32 days HOOOORAAAHH
Got a letter today! He said if they do well then they will get an hour phone call on the 24th and for me to be ready! Boy - will I ever be! He sounded great! Asked for me to send cookies to the RDC's. I didn't think we could send food. But maybe if it is for their leaders it is ok! ? Any thoughts? He is trying so hard to be
a good division leader. Not so sure how I feel about it. He says if anything goes badly he gets in major trouble. Please pray for our boys to persevere. Ginger

Awesome news about the phone call!!! I sure hope they do well. Would be great to get a chance to have a real conversation. And with that much time they could even make multiple calls. I don't blame you for being concerned about him being the division leader and the trouble issue. Kinda scary. But I'm sure the boys want to do their best and try not to screw up. I was told NO food. So not sure on that. But maybe its a good thing. He is asking for them for the RDCs not the recruits. What does the veteran mom's think? Well have a great day Ginger and yes saying lots of prayers.

I am really sad....this week I haven't received a letter from Dan....anyone else not get letters? Also do you know what date/day they are in?

Hi all...my name is Dara and my son Daniel is on Ship 04/ Div 341...I am so happy I found this site...I feel CLUELESS...I have received 2 "real" letters and the form letter...the last real letter arrived yesterday...he sounds good...said his ship scored highest on a test and received a flag ( he said it was good and that I may not understand what it was but I would soon enough)...he called his girlfriend a week ago and she was thrilled..I totall get why he called his girlfriend, but man do I wish I had heard his voice...his letter yesterday helped a lot...says my "letters rock...just like you mom"...MichiganNavyMom thank you for starting this...I am a very grateful mom<3

Dara.....our son's have the same name and are in the same ship/div!  I also have gotten 2 letters.  Sadly I haven't received one this week.....that is really great that they were awarded a FLAG!!  My son called his dad to when he had the opportunity...I want the call next time too.... I also really need to hear his voice!...Only 27+ days and counting down!

Wow...sounds like some of us are in the same boat!!! I haven't gotten a call either...his gf got the last one and his dad before that. :( I also didn't get a letter this week. Neither did his dad or siblings. However his gf got a very short one. I'm guessing he didn't have much time to write this past Sunday. I'm under the impression that they also have to do their ironing and such during the time they have to write. So some times they may be busier. I only pray I get one this week. I miss him so much! Yes the count down has begun in this house too :)

Welcome aboard Dara!

Hi my new Navy friends...what a wonderful way to start the week...it is nice to bond with you as you know the void I'm feeling...the pride...the joy..the love...all mixed into one!!

I think I read and re-read Daniel's letter every day....I so hope we all get calls this week...I'm praying for us all...

Has everyone made their reservations already...I thought I was suppose to wait til I got the "gradutation" packet, but now I am nervous I missed the boat...thoughts????

Thanks for the kind welcome...

Dara.....no you haven't missed the boat.....there is no graduation packet that comes, only the form letter telling you of the date.

Thanks...not sure what I was thinking?!?!?  Are you all booked??

Since we are only an hour and a 1/2 away we are driving down that morning... I hope I don't regret that!
We are staying Thursday and Friday nights at America's Best Inns and Suites. The price was pretty cheap and there is continental breakfast included and a swimming pool for the kids. There are a ton of places to stay in the area. We have our rooms reserved. Now looking for rental car. We are driving from Michigan.
