He is a delayed entry recruit so I have had time to get used to the idea. He singes on to be a corpsmen (medic right). If recruits leave together on the 4th do they grad together?
Hope to meet other moms!

Hello Out There,

I'm a mom with a son who left home Oct. 3rd, to Anchorage, leaving Oct. 4th to GL.  Got my phone call from him on Oct. 5th.  Haven't received anything here in Alaska.  Hope to bring my 11 yr old to PIR, whenever that may be, hope we can get some airline tix that aren't way out there.  This is all new to me, hoping for the best experience for my son.

I have had a lot of moms on here tell me the PIR for them will most likely be the Wed before Thanksgiving. I am hoping for the folowing week! As that would be a very busy time to travel!~

And that is a LONG way for you to come :) I hope we can meet if our sailors PIR together. I hear the Ramada Inn is a nice place to stay :)

Received his box today.

That's great!

Has anyone else thought about making reservations for PIR? I am on the PIR 11/23/11 group and they think that recruits that left 10/4/11 will be PIR that day? Any thoughts ladies??

I was on a few hotel websites this morning thinking that I should make reservations now.  My daughter arrived on the 4th also.  Come on Mailman!!!!   Uggh, I have to wait til late afternoon....... I have zero patience when it comes to hearing from my kids at Boot Camp!

On the PIR board for 11/23 they said to just book a room cuase it is easy to change so I think I will do that today and then PRAY I got the right dates? LOL

IT is pretty resonable, we plan to check in Tues the 22 and check out on Sun the 27th :) for a two queen with Conseriege room (dont know what that is) it is 460$ for 3 queen beds it is 680$ Do our Sailors spend the night with us at all or do they have to report back to base every evening?

My husband doesn't work today, so I told him to call as soon as the mail comes, no matter what!  I keep checking my phone to make sure I didn't miss the call.  My patience level is not so great either, lol.
Looks like we will be graduating on Dec 2nd....
Did you get your letter or call the recruiter?

How did you find out????

DO TELL!!!

Dawn in MI

when did your SR leave etc... detail details...lol

My son shipped out (flew) and I got "the call" last Wednesday October 5.  I just got his "box" today. It came FedEx and i DID have to sign for it. We live in Nebraska.  I am also hoping PIR is December 2 or later . Thanksgiving will be a hard time to travel. No letter yet. Still waiting.....
