Mrs. Banner,
I would like to thank you for the pillow case you sent. That was very thoughtful of you to do such a thing. I’ve had more than one offer for it already because it looks like the American flag. Well I just wanted you the know that it’s being put to good use and it’s being enjoyed.
Thanks,
CMDCM XXXXX

Ms. Banner,
I would like to take a moment to extend my deepest appreciation for your kind gift. It warms my heart to know that while we are out here doing our job to keep America and our allies free from all forms of persecution, our countrymen and women on the home front have us in their hearts and prayers. There is much turmoil for our country these days both at home and abroad, but I know in my heart we will make it as a country and as a people because of kind-hearted Americans like you.
P.S. I have enclosed a photo of myself with the pillow case I selected. It is very comfortable and I enjoy the interesting design. I plan to make it my pillowcase for all my future deployments as well, and it will serve as a constant reminder of the people I am here to protect and serve. Thank you.

Hi Sue - I'm new to all this but I can already feel the love. My family does a chartity craft each December and this year we would like to make pillow cases. I have read the "how to's." We will be making them on December 10th at our family party. Could you tell me what holiday we should think about (St Pat's or Valentines) or stick to general decorations?
Please contact me via email at mary.derda@yahoo.com. thanks! Mary
Hi Mary,
that is just wonderful news! thank you so much. I will email you privately.
In early Dec, I got an urgent from Carol A, who is a Navy mom not on this site. Her daughter Jamee will be working with wounded warriors at Bethesda Hospital and she was hoping to get some pillowcases for them. Carol had some made, but needed help. So Birdie and Ally each got some pcs to her right away! Here is a note from Jamee and a note she received, plus the photo which I got permission to post:
This morning, as part of our "Russell Project," Gene Russell and I delivered Christmas dinner packages of turkey, ham or roast beef to 5 families staying in the Barracks which is Bldg. 62 or in the Navy Lodge. These are families of Wounded Warriors that stayed for the holiday. One family had 18 people here with a Warrior, still on the ward, who had lost both legs and half of one arm. This picture is of Gene and Lisa , a mother of a Warrior who lost his left leg above the knee. He is still on the ward. She is holding a pillow case, a small quilt and a tin of cookies. The tins of cookies, quilts and pillow cases were made by folks in Wyoming and elsewhere and given through Jamee who does our Craft Corner.
