Angie, I couldn't help but smile with your post :-) When I first moved to NC from CT back in '88, I was accustomed to driving in the snow, but, it's been such a long time. I would almost guarantee a bad outcome from being nervous alone! Do you know if Milwaukee has trams or shuttles from their airport to the base? thanks

I'm not Angie! Lol...but I tried to get a taxi for my mom from the base to the Milwaukee airport...couldn't find anyone able to do it. Maybe you'll have more luck than me!

I found a shuttle that runs from Milwaukee to the base but it cost $130. for one way. I think I'm going to reconsider flying into O'Hare being that I won't be renting a car; I'll price a shuttle or taxi from there.  Geez Louise, it would be so much easier if we weren't talking about dead of winter!! But, ya do whatcha gotta do, right? Not being there to watch our recruit graduate is NOT an option!
Holy Cow!!!! That is a lot, and you are right...Not being there is NOT an option!!!! I have decided to leave my son at home with my husband and me and my mom will take the trip together.

I'm sure that the answer to my question may be in the guidelines, but, are we allowed to post our email addy? I'd like to contact my 'friend' on this board regarding sharing a shuttle from O'Hare to Ramada Inn in Waukeegan; I checked the fares for a shuttle; single passenger $95, 2 passengers $105 (57 each) and 3 passengers  $39 each. Ramada offers free shuttle to the base as well.

I still have yet to receive a letter from my RS letting me know his division and grad date...getting anxious to hear from him!!

Marsha....bless your heart!!!!  When did your daughter arrive in Chicago?

Hi there....your daughter must have been with my son!  We took him to the recruiter on the 23rd and he left the 24th - I have been watching the weather and it has been pretty mild....my son's PIR is the 29th of December - I have been to Chicago for several Christmas' and we always got snow....not too much but we always did - it is cooooooooooooold....so if you are not used to cold weather bundle up - and wear sensible shoes...boots or strong shoes....I can't wait to see him...he is in Ship 2 Div 904.

(Bundle up!!!!..........did yo see where we can order hoodies, sweat shirts and tee shirts with their division info on it One of the other mom's posted the info....it is Custom Division Sportswear....phone number is 972-347-6655

GaryMimi....I have been watching the weather and I am praying that the mild weather continues through December. I can deal with the cold but I don't want to deal with the snow!!! I will check into getting me a hoodie sweat shirt.
Good luck. My son will be graduating in January. I hear it is worse then.
