I thought I would also share what my daughter wrote :)

She had her wisdom tooth removed and was confined to bedrest for 2 days except for meals. One of the inspections is based on their uniform, posture, military bearing , and "random questions they ask us. It sucks because they ask us one of like a bajillion questions"

2nd inspection - timed event. 2 minutes to strip the beds to their standards. then 15 minutes to make the bed. All of the corners have to be folded at a 45 degree angle and the pillow too. But rackmates can help each other with the sheets.

Pt session in the house - Petty Officer made the whole div sing the spongebob theme song! EVERYONE knew the words :)

Her rackmate wasn't feeling well so she "took her blanket and tucked her in like you used to do. made me miss you that much more "   (That was cute to read!)

PT outside - 6 am "had to wear pants, long shirts, parkas with lining, gloves, and our beanie hat - Freaking Cold - ugh I hate it"

Said she gets off for Christmas :)  not sure of the details - but what a gift!!!!!

That's all I know - I hope that makes someone feel a little bit closer to knowing what is going on :)

A few responses from my questionnaire I sent her:

Who do you love most? Mom and mailman - equal right now

Have you gotten IT? - YES - the div didn't tie shoes in less than 30 seconds.

Has any recruit done anything that was pretty cool? - "Nah, we all pretty much suck"

Do you sleep well? - NO! we have to iron and stand watch

A school info? - to straight to FL then from there I will get Christmas Leave.

Thanks for letting me share :)

~Phillies

my daughter is also in fl for A school I pray she will get christmas leave

My son called me last wednesday. It was music to my ears. He sounds good but he said he doesn't get much sleep and he has a hard time figuring out when his RDC's are angry! It was a quick call but wonderful to hear his voice. I tried to compete in the Wacky Wednesday contest but it was pretty tough. You have to have someone that has been in the navy to figure out the picture. They post the picture on their facebook page 12pm Central time. You have to be on the site as soon as it posts because the last picture was guessed within a minute. If anyone is game check it out. If you win you a picture of our DIV. with your recruit in the front. Anyway 5 more weeks approx.

My son is in 009. He said that everyone is pretty nice in his ship and div. I just signed up for the meet and greet on Thurs. before graduation. This is quite a new experience for me and it seems like they go out of their way to accomodate the families.
Does anyone know what tests they are doing this week? I think there was a PFA and my daughter was worried because she was getting sick... now I am worried.......If she did not pass - when would we know?

My daughters letter said she is also very sick, and that everyone there is. SHe also said it is Hell week and they have three test this week and an inspection where they can get demerrit chits.

I just got one small letter and am hoping another comes today.

I am soo grateful to know that there are other moms out there in my situation!  I am just trying to send all of our SR's good vibes and pray that they all pass - I know know one wants to get held back.  No news is good news, No news is good news, ........
We feel the same. Her letter said she had anemia and was dated a week ago... I know she would have had to call if it was bad enough to process her out so all I know is it must be ok... or else I would get a call but it is killing me. All her other letters were so positive and upbeat. This one wasn't and it is hard. My husband goes home at work every day checking for more letters and scans them to me so I can read them right away (I work an hour away)... he just let me know nothing today. It is very hard.

I dont know about the meet and great can u explain that please

I recieved a letters one yesterday and one today.  Todays letter was mailed on Oct. 31.  He said he had just finished my first day of 3-1 week and the first day/night of ship staff.  Excited about getting to speak on the loud speaker...My child gets excited about everything...  Said he was fixing to have his 2nd Acedimics test. On Friday which I am guessing is today.  He was going to have another inspection over 9 mm Barreta Pistole.  Said he was having a little trouble with it.  But, thought if he kept practicing he would be ok.    That was the letter from today.

I recieved a letter yesterday---postmarked 10-31.  It was Sunday he says and Thursday they went to uniforms issue again and got their whites, blue and khaki suits.  (I can't wait to see him in that)...Said he was going to have to get ready for Monday and asked my if I knew what Monday was.  Siad it was Hell Week.  He had 3 test--zone, PI's and WTI.  OOO he asked to if I was going to get him a computer to get him one that did takes finger prints.  Hope this helps you... How have u been?  I feel so lost I was keeping up with you ladies and then I went to work and havn't had time to catch up.  Seems like everyone is getting calls and letters know.  YAYAYA!!!  I ordered my scarf today--the one with N on it and a shirt.  Someone said something about shirts for our divisions?  Do you know anything about that?  I am fixing to order the ribbons now.  Is there anything else...I am very forgetfull here lately.  Hope you are doing ok.  Can't wait to meet all you guys.

I have not seen the shirts - let me know if you see any:)

Gotta go - mail is here ;)
