How long is the drive? That will be neat to stop and see the Corvette museum and factory on the way home. Will break up the trip a bit. We too will be going to the airport with our son, so we will fly out on Sunday instead of Saturday that way we have all day. I just wish we knew what airport they will fly out of to go to their A school. Regardless of airport, we will be there!!:) Are you going to the meet and greet?
It is about a 13-14 hour drive, but we are stopping somewhere Wednesday night to rest. Flying out on Sunday is a good idea; I may check flights to see if there are any deals. My son said he thought they were flying out of O'hare. Which meet and greet? I heard about Sarge's meet and greet, is that the one? I have to kinda start over with my plans since he just changed divisions..but that's not a problem..everyone here (& on facebook) have been so nice.
are you on facebook?
Our son is on ship 09 div 045....can you give me any information on how I can find pictures of them from Christmas? He is to graduate on the 3rd of January and I am unable to attend, how can I order a DVD or see what pictures are available to buy? Any extra information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Karen
Have any of you gotten a phone call? All I've gotten is his box and two letters.
I won't get a box, my husband took only what he could keep and donated the clothes he was wearing. All I have gotten is the "I'm here" call. I'm in Mississippi.
Two letters, already?? That's awesome!
I'm from Western PA.
We've gotten his box and graduation letter.
He's rated as an MM ryte now, but he hopes to get his job changed to YN, which would send him to (Meridian) Mississippi after graduation.
Yea I want to know how you got two letters! I'm going crazy waiting to hear from my husband hah. I haven't even got the form letter yet :(
Ohh...sadface.
We got my boy's yesterday.
Hopefully we'll get letters soon, I'm crossing my fingers for monday!!
what days did y'all's recruits arrive at boot camp? Mine arrived Nov 16
Exactly the same, he left the 15th, went to MEPS and caught his flight to Chicago the 16th.
