For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi there..my son arrived at GL on December 6th...got the "im here" phone call...no box yet...just waiting...anyone else have a loved one leave for GL on the 6th..I would love to find a few of us to keep in touch and swap stories of their progression...take care

My son left on the 6th also but I got the address today and he's in Ship 07 Div 060..so his graduation will be most Likely Feb 3rd? I will check out that site to check out the info as well..thanks! I am waiting for my form letter too..is anyone else in the same division?

Our son also left on 12/06 from New Orleans. Around 12:30 we received the "I'm okay..." phone call. It was funny when he landed in Chicago he called us on his cell phone we had a normal phone conversation and pass the phone around to his sisters ect. About three hours latter he called from the RTC you could tell he was reading from a script and that he had his game face on. He sounded very official.
Last Friday we received the Box with the rolled up jeans. Inside the box he had two letters that he wrote on the plane, one for my wife and I and one for his girlfriend.
We are still waiting for the Form Letter with his address. My wife and I race home every day to check the mail box.

Yes ..My granddtr arrived at GL the same time...We too received the phone call,,,,But no box...I think this is awesome to connect with people with loved ones are together...ike my grandtr told me...I am here with my new bestfriends..I beleive that...That makes our connecton so important...

My son left from Texas on December 6th as well. We received his box over the weekend and are anxiously awaiting his form letter so we can start mailing him letters. It's been really hard and I'm still crying daily but I am so proud of him and the choice he has made.

Hi thanks for you reply. We are from Magnolia, Tx...We just received her form letter this am...I dont know why but it made me sad.....I am very proud of her and know she made the right choice,b ut I guess letting go is hard..

Hi, YES!! My daughter left on the 6th as well. She called on Sat. and spoke for literally a min. then hanged up. I cried and cried and cried. I got "the box" on Monday. Cried again and just left it in her room. I'm very proud of her but it's been very hard letting go.

My son arrived at GL on December 8th. Got the "I am here, sending my stuff home, I'll call you in three weeks and I am having a blast" call that evening!!! We received "the box" on the 12th! We can't wait to receive his address so we can send our love, support, and some humor! I read somewhere on this vast website an idea for his going away party to have the guests write a letter to send him while he is in boot camp and we have lots to send him! It has been hard to cut the apron strings but being an independent man is what we have been training him for 19 years and I am so grateful he has this opportunity! I was an Army wife 20 years ago and now I am a Navy mom! Wow life is good I am proud! My heart aches because I miss him, but I know this was right! I have heard the phrase many times " they leave boys and come back men", but I believe the decision to serve your country is a man's! ( or woman's)

Glad to see that everyone is holding up ok...I got his address over the weekend from his recruiter and his box on Monday....I recently read here somewhere that you shouldnt use the address that the recruiter supplies as it isnt always the most accurate.. well that would really stink if it wasnt his actual address as his recruiter posted it on his Facebook page for all his friends to have ..Hopefully the form letter comes soon...has anyone received thiers?
