Hi Navy Wife33
My son graduated Feb. 10th but did not ship for SWCC for training for about 3 weeks. Unfortunately I don't think there is a set amount of time for SWCC. They seem to ship when they are ready for them in Coronado.
Thanks Noreen. :)
Woo Hoo, I heard from my son today. What a great phone call that was. He sounded good, hadn't been feeling well last week, but doing better now. It was sooo good to hear his voice. He said everyone is really close in their division, that made me feel comforted. He is looking forward to graduation day, as am I and the rest of our family
Here is hoping many of you too also received your phone call.
Happy Tuesday!
Heard from my hubby today! Woooooo! It was GREAT just hear his vioce! It was like falling in love all over again! :)
He called around 5:15 CST and we talked until 6pm. He said the division is coming together! He mentioned them not meeting an "average" for their flag?! Can anyone elaborate?
He also said he misses my cooking... either he was being nice or the food is horrible! And from what I hear their food is pretty good! LOL. He said the letters are a great motivator & to keep them coming! :) All in all, he is doing good!
Wow, Navy Wife 33--You got a 45 minute phone call? That was great! You surely found out more from him than we did in our son's 10-minute call. There's so much we wish we knew, isn't there?
Received a call from my son last nite, spoke with him 33 min, said he had 45 min call. He sounds good, had his wisdom teeth pulled and was sick last week with an ear infection. All in all, he can't wait for this BC to be over. He says the food is good, although he lost some weight and he gets to sleep about 3 hrs. Says the division is pulling together as a team, which is really great news. He has received our mail and pics. Anyone have any idea if SWCCK is going to have liberty for the weekend? He is clueless, said he will know the sooner it gets to graduation.
It was so great hearing from him!! Can't' wait to see him!! Hopefully, all of you received calls as well.
Yahoo!!!

I received the offical phone call from my son*** he was in good mood and seemed happy!! makes my heart feel good... we leave 4 weeks from today to head to Chicago, can't wait to see my baby boy :)
My son had an ear infection. He said a lot of the division was sick. Poor babies, it's so hard to be a mom and not be able to help them get better! Are any of you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet? It's getting closer ladies, I can hardly wait!
Hello all. I also have a son in Div 812; received a letter last week, then a wonderful 45 min phone call yesterday (Tues) and today another letter. He sounded very positive, a little snuffly (says that with 83 guys in one area, the germs are being passed around but he is overall healthy), said they are very strict and he has met some nice guys. It was great to hear his voice. He is unaware of the things that he can have when he goes to pre-BUDS after BC, but I found a spot on this site that has some discussion towards that. I told him to check it out and let me know via letter what he would like me to bring when we attend PIR. I'm not one to blog much, but have read everyone's posts and am glad that you are hearing from your sons/husbands. Have a great day and God Bless!
HI Ladies, I am the Mom of a SWCC graduate who PIR'd from BC Div 818 in 9/2010. I saw a post on the SWCC site from Cor with a question about how long they get for Liberty after PIR. I think every PIR is different depending on when the group going to SWCC training has to report to CA to begin their training process. After his PIR my son was able to come back to the hotel with us for the whole weekend...which was a surprise to all of us, even him! He just had to call & report in every morning @ 7am. After we left he & the rest of the SWCC group were on hold for 2wks until the next SWCC class was ready to begin in Coronado. While they were on hold in Great Lakes they took sort of a finance class for one of the weeks. He did not find out any of this until after PIR so it is very hard to tell what is going to happen. I have a friend whose son was in 818 also but going Air Crew...he was a "Grad & Go" and had to fly out to FL the night of PIR so his family went to the airport to spend time with him. I hope I was able to shed some light on what may happen in May for some of you. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. Good Luck to all your Sailor's & to you too!!
