Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

Joann, Hang in there.  I've only gotten one letter, and it was short, but he sounded good in the phone call.  So, if he was doing OK before, he's probably doing OK now. You never know, maybe it got held up in the preview process, and will arrive soon!  Send him good vibes, and he'll be fine.  Let us know when you get the letter, we'll be thinking of you.

The farther you are from GL, the longer it takes to get to you. Remember, I'm only like 2 hours away, so not many post offices for it to go through.

Chin up girl! It'll be there soon! :)

I know. But the other 2 letters I get them by Wednesday so. Maybe is late because Easter IDK

Physical Fitness Flag - not Olympic flag. lol Don't think they're doing the games yet

KikiOtter, what do you mean they got a flag?  It seems that you are saying they earn flags for achieving certain milestones?  Interesting, I didn't know about that.  Thanks for keeping us posted!

By achieving certain standards, the division can earn flags. They are actual flags that the division marches around with, and will also at PIR (if you ever look through the photos on RTC's facebook page, you'll see the flags I'm talking about, haha)

Here's a link to a page where someone explained the flags and then also uploaded pics of them. :)

I went back and watched a PIR on Youtube, now I see what you  mean by the flags.  There is an Olympic Flag, not sure what it has to do with the Navy, but I do see one on the flag web site you linked us to.  Thanks!

Letter 3 delivered today, My son had some really exciting news. A few recruits and him self  while eating dinner had the Executive Officer of Recruit Traning Command sit at dinner with them. He was very excited since that doesn`t usually happen. I think that is very cool. He is still enjoying BC and can`t wait until Graduation. He also comment that he should be getting another call home May 4th. I am counting the days..

Just heard that my son was one of the guys with his wisdom teeth out.  A week of soft foods but other than that is doing fine.

Got another letter today! : )

Great. I still waiting. No news since last week, I'm getting Anxious! :(

Im sure everything is fine!  I know that they say no news is good news.. but I can understand being anxious!
