Good morning moms! (Maybe I should have said proud, but anxious moms.)  I am so ready to hear something from my daughter. Has anyone received a call or a letter from their child yet? All I've had is the 'I'm here' call. I keep telling myself that no news is good news, but this is soooo hard. Everyone have a blessed day! Gloria

gc, I replied in the 6/8 PIR group, but I'll reply here too.  I did receive a call from my son on Thursday as he needed some information.  It caught me off guard.  We only got to talk a couple of minutes.  Like I said in my other comment, it was bittersweet...so great to hear his voice but also an emotional time.  No letters yet though I'm not sure how much he'll write to me as he is married.  :)  They should be able to start writing letters today as well as receive letters that have been written to them.  :)

gc - I also have not heard from my son, but they did say 3 weeks before we would get our first call (other than I arrived safely) - hang in there...they say - no news is good news and I am very anxious for a letter or call but trying to be patient. The mail takes 5 to 10 days and not sure when they were allowed to start writing, probably not at all in the first week so there probably has not been enough time.  They are only allowed to write on Sundays.  My sons PIR is also 6/08.

I got a call last week because my husband needed information. After getting over how scared I was that something went wrong... it was nice. I really hope they started writing yesterday! If so we should be getting letters soon! :D

My daughter phoned this morning. I too was scared that something was wrong when I saw the Wakegan, IL caller id. She needed info. She did tell me that they were able to write yesterday and that they should get first mail call later today. She sounded good. So very nice to know that she is doing well.

that's awesome about your call. And yay! I sent off letters a bit ago.. I think 15th or 16th? So hoping he will be gettin my letters soon! I'm glad they got to write.. it took about 3 days to get the PIR letter here after they sent it so maybe ill be getting a letter Thursday this week! Always nice having something to look forward to.

My Daughter 's PIR Date is 6/08 also. I havent heard from her other then the letter with her information. I have been writing her. I have to keep myself busy so i wont just go crazy thinking  about her. Im glad i have this website to go to. :)

We should be getting letters from our recruits this week...yeah!  I've  seen someone in this division say they received a letter from their daughter.  Looks like this is an integrated division...boys and girls.

fingers crossed :D

tomsmomla - Wow, glad your son is doing well and it's not that tough. Showering in 3 mins would be wonderful, my son got kicked out of bathroom for too long a shower - it was 20 seconds...maybe your son is in a really good division - staying on their toes all the time? haha

Anyone one get a phone call yet? I would love to hear from my daughter. I keep my cell phone on me at all times,

Sonya - No call yet....was hoping today but probably by Wednesday.  That will be our 3 weeks.

Tomorrow will make it exactly 3 weeks since Ive seen my husband and I'm really hoping I'll be getting a call soon. Everytime my phone goes off my heart goes crazy thinking its him...lol
