While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hey everyone I thought I'd start the division discussion. I do believe from what the veteran moms say that the SRs in 942 will be a sticks division. Is that what everyone else has gathered to?? I am very proud of my son for getting in the performing division! He has always been in marching band & his senior year was field commander. He plays percussion along with several other instruments. He plans to be a music ed teacher in the future! We live in a very small town in Ohio & my son has been planning to join the Navy since the end of his junior year in high school.

Thanks for starting this group! My daughter is also in ship 2/ DIV 942. She was a Dancer for her university when she decided to join the Navy, and she is very excited to be part of this group! I recieve a 2nd phone call from her on Friday, July 27th.. it was a short call maybe 5 minutes, but it was so wonderful to hear from her.
This has been a tough journey for me as my daughter had a full ride to a great University which she attended one year and decided it wasn't for her. When i talked to her on Friday it was the first time that I was really proud of her. She was a little emotional as we are very close and not being able to at minimum chat on the phone for 3 weeks has been tough on us both, but she sound so strong, so confident and sure of herself it took everything I had not to burst into tears.
942 is a co-ed division, she was cracking me up stating that the "boys" usually got them into trouble with extra PT.. LOL Also she stated many of the other recruits were jealous that they were not in a co-ed division. So at least our SR are happy to be able to interact with the other gender.
She said she had blisters from her combat boots but that they were calusing over now and really it wasn't so bad. She stated that she felt bad for the other divisions as they had quite a bit of down time and couldn't sleep during that down time. 942 stays pretty busy with their extra practice is what I'm gathering.
She also said food was pretty good overall - said they had some good Tacos last week that reminded her of home.. we live in TX.

My son is in this same shp and div however I thought he would be band due to musical backround so if this is sticks and flags I am surprised but still very proud of him fot being this div. And from what I was told they will be double training one for performing and regular pt Rt.wow thats alot of hard work,kudos to our SRs!

My son is also in div 942. He played trumpet in the marching band in high school but that was awhile back since he is 22. He also was in the police academy last year. He has marching and formation down! Someone else told me 942 was sticks as well and I have no idea what that means :) Doesn't matter though, he loves this stuff. I am also from a small town in Ohio. I can't wait until PIR.

Then that means mine is in the same division as yours so he is in the drum line, I thought that was what he would be doing since that is one of the instruments he plays. Hopefully I will get some letters today, Yeah!!

Got a letter today wow what a difference already just from what I read. Amazing.... and he is also on the drum line as you said he said they will be performing two graduations prior to and their own .. he is doing well.. not to many complaints thoug h he did say they took out his wisdom teeth. and he almost passed out on the peanut butter shot and got IT for it and was in paid for 4 days... but he sounded in good spirits and sais a few choice words about the RDC's etc and made some funnies but I am so proud of him and he said he received four of my letters at one time and he said wants more letters from everyone all his friends etc. he says he need something from the outside world......lol I will share more later.

I am hoping anyone who is at the 8/17 & the 8/24 PIRs will take pics of the drumline & post them for us to maybe get a glimpse of SRs before our PIR!!!
