We also a staying at the Navy Lodge.  My son is ship 12 div. 286.

We have no idea were to start we need to make reservations some were. Can you give me the number for the lodge.

On the web are a couple of different ones.  I think this is the one I called.  847-689-1485.  They do not have a shuttle to PIR.  Make sure you get your parking pass!

I just went through PIR in May with my son and now am 'going thru it again' with my sons' best friend and girl friend. Just wanted to say hello and not just 'lurk' :)

Sounds like ya'll are getting "PIR" letters and your count downs have begun in earnest! I would encourage attending PIR if at all possible-- it's awesome and not something you'll easily forget. :)

Have a great day!

My son is ship 12 div 286. He shipped out of New Orleans July 12. We have NO military background on my or my husbands side so we are 2 blind people walking in the dark. Fortunate for us we do have a cane and it is this web site thank all of you so much

Hi..my son is Ship 12 Div 286, too.  He shipped out of Raleigh NC on 7/11.  No military experience here.  This site is so helpful.  He'll be attending A school in Great Lakes, as well.

Mine will go to Pensicola for A school

Hi memagshea - My son also shipped out of New Orleans 7/10.  He is in Div 282 same PIR date.  Glad to meet someone else from Louisiana.  Keep in touch.

So glad to find someone else from LA. Did yours fly out of new Orleans on July12

Yes!  I received my son's form letter last Thursday.  I am anxiously waiting for my first letter from him!

I was nervous about the limit of 4 people that could attend PIR, but then when I found out that retired military do not count towards the four person limit I was totally relieved.  My son is heading to I.T. "A" school in Pensacola ... I am so excited and proud of him :)

Tiffany95356 - I will also have one son heading to Pensacola for IT A school. And one to San Antonio for HM A school. I just hope to get to spend some time with them before their flights. We ate from AL, so we can go see our son in Pensacola pretty easy, but San Antonio will be a trek!

Does the retired military need a military id to not be on the count?
