It's probably early, but I'm anxious to book our hotel for PIR. We are planning on arriving on Wednesday and staying thru Sunday. I haven't started much research but have been reading other posts. Have any of you made decisions regarding this yet?

Ladies, In case you haven't seen it, or aren't a member of the "Boot Camp Mom's" group, check out this afternoon's(7/30) posts (3 of them) by aster PIR7/27/2012. She just returned home from PIR and shares some great information. I have asked her for her permission to repost it on this group or for her to join and share with us, but until I hear back from her, go to that group and check it out! Also, I posted a great you tube video on my page about Boot Camp. It was one that I hadn't seen before and I thought I'd seen them all! lol check out my "home" page. If we're not "friends" yet, just send me a request!

elizabeth: We took the shuttle. Wonderful. Bypassed car line...we left on the 6:30 one (signed up for it when we checked in). Picked the shuttle back up at the gate about an hour after PIR was over. $3/pp each way, sailor usually rides back for free.
djmom: You can drive from Navy Lodge...about a mile from RTC. You also get a NEX (Navy Exchange) pass for a smaller NEX to shop in w/out your sailor. The other NEXes, the sailor has to be with you.
We booked the Springhill Suites, since my dad, mother-in-law, our daughter and I are coming to PIR. We also rented a car although we are taking the shuttle to PIR. We are also staying until Monday. My husband's A-School is Pensacola. Mostly they fly out Saturday but in my sister's PIR half flew out to Pensacola on Sunday so I am not going to take the chance of him staying until Sunday and me not being able to be with him because I have to fly back. ;)
Just booked Courtyard by Marriott. Kept looking at all the different choices & finally just decided on this one. Took me a while to make up my mind. I plan on renting a car, but might take the shuttle to PIR also. Arriving on Wed & leaving Sunday. Now I just have to book airline & car rental.
