My son is on ship 11 division 279.  Just got the letter day before yesterday.  I'm a little overwhelmed with the thought of finding airline tickets, hotel and rental cars.  I don't know which airport to come into...just a little overwhelmed.  Couple of days and I'll be on it.  Can't wait to see my son.

He is element leader right now and once he is out he will be going to nuke school.  He said they would be going through "hell" week this week and things were going to be really tough.  He said he hopes it all goes well because he is responsible for them.  I will ask him if he knows her when I write to him again.  I just mailed out a letter this morning.  I can't wait to get there!

Hi Judi:  This is interesting because my daughter (her name is Nicole) will be going to nuke school too.  She's going to South Carolina for 2 years after boot camp.  I hope they can all make it through until the end.  I'm sure every week has its own set of challenges.  I can't wait for graduation either.  Where are you coming from?  I'm in Green Bay, Wisconsin so we'll be driving down.

I know I am butting into your conversation, but my daughter is actually in the same div/ship.  Sarah is going to be an air traffic controller going to Pensacola.  Carrying the flag they won.  I am staying at the Ramada, probably going to the meet and greet there...

It's ok. I am planning on going to the meet and greet. I can't wait to meet our new extended family. Mine will be in front as well on the right front according to the diagram he sent me. LOL! He also sent me vocab words for me to learn. I love that. All those times I asked him to study and now I am studying his lingo.

i haven't got any diagrams or lingo yet, so I will be making sure to find you so I know the good spot to see.  I can't wait til PIR

Me either on the diagram or lingo.  She did say she was going to write what she knew about graduation in her next letter because she'd have more time to write on Sunday so I hope to get that letter maybe tomorrow.  There's a meet & greet on Thursday evening

SARGE'S MEET AND GREET

September 6, 2012 from 5:30pm to 9pm – SUNDANCE SALOON WAUKEGAN

and then Friday evening at the Ramada.  Which one are you ladies planning on going to?  I thought maybe the one on Thursday because won't we be spending time with our new Sailor on Friday till their curfew?

We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  This is the place her recruiter suggested we stay at and it's only $65 a night.  We can also change or cancel our reservation if need be.  Many other hotels I looked up on line said they were "non-cancellable" and I was leery to book and not be able to cancel.  Yes, it would be really nice if we could meet up together at the meet & greet Thursday night.

the Ramada has free breakfast and a pool, and you can cancel.  I think it was $72.  I liked the pool, as maybe we will just hang out there after she takes a long shower  :)

the Ramada meet and greet is Thursday  I think 5-8 I think with snacks and drinks.. or it is 6-8.

Yes, you are right about the Ramada Meet & Greet....It is on Thursday, 9/6.  I saw the 9/7/12 date and I was confused.  Sorry about that.

PIR 09/07/2012 Ramada Meet and Greet

September 6, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm – Ramada Waukegan ANYONE may attend...the Ramada does this for every PIR group as a courtesy, it is free. There will be many there that don’t know about N4M’s! So pass the word! The hostess will make a name tag for you.

The courtyard marriot can be cancelled so we opted to stay there after all the wonderful reviews it got compared to some of the others that I read.  They only charged us $79 a night.  We were pretty happy with that. Just so you know who I am I will be the one with the shiny gold purse.  trust me you can't miss it.  I told my son that I would be carrying that so he would know where I was.  It is VERY shiny! Oh the agony of waititng.  :(

Hahaha! Now all I can do is picture some lady walking around holding her shiny gold purse up in the air!! Thank you! That's great!
