My son is Ship 2 DIV 950....I wonder if they will train together at some point.????? He got to BC on August 28th and we jsut got the letter yesterday. How about you?
I received the box today. It was very hard but in a way I felt like it was contact and even though I cried it brought me comfort.
My son did not get there until Sept. 4. I don't how that works if the only train with others with the same PIR date. I am very lonely for my son. We are very bonded and I have never been away without contact with him so long. I have not received the letter or box even though others who shipped out the same day have already received theirs. I was so very jealous of those that got phone calls yesterday but I am happy for them too.
It has been so hard. I cry as soon as someone mentions it. I too had a mini meltdown today. People really are nice about it. I had to leave the day he shipped out so I did not get to go with him to the airport. From what I gather from others is it gets better once you hear from them. I think once he tells me he is handling it ok I will feel much better. I keep reminding myself this is his dream and I am grateful to have a small part in it. I know the good Lord is taking good care of him I still worry. It is awesome to hear from a mother who has a son in the same ship and division.
Yes I am so excited to get the letter so I can focus on making our arrangements. I wish I would get a phone call. I am not certain about all the 900's being on ship 2. I thought I had seen other posts that had 900 in different ships. I do know that Div 951 is on Ship 2. Have a great day. I am so happy to connect with you all. Just having that common groud with others that are experiencing the same things helps tremendously. Have an awesome day.
So yesterday I was thinking our SR should have gone to the other side and have now began the actual boot camp. I heard from this point they ease up and do not yell as much. I am so proud of my son. I woke up this moring teary eyed again missing him. My son's girlfriend sent me a package and in it was a bag of hershey kisses. Her letter said when her dad would go to sea (Navy) she would count out a bag of kisses for each day he would be gone. She said eat one each night before you go to bed and you will see that soon the bag has less and less in it indicating it would be very soon before you see him again. I thought that was very sweet.
My daughter SR is in the Division also. It is very hard to have her gone. She is my oldest and the first to go. All she had talked about for the last 5 years was joining the Navy, so I was a little prepared when she left. Still harder to be without her than I thought. I started writing her letters and numbering them before I even got her address. Now that I've got it, I stuck them all in the mail. Hallmark.com also has some military cards that you can customize and even add photos too that aren't too expensive either. Looking forward to getting to know some of you over the next 6 weeks and meeting you at PIR.
Just got my form letter and our son is in Div 952. Is this the special div that does PIR?
Recieved our form letter this afternoon, and he is in SHIP -02 DIV-952. I am so PROUD of of him that I have a hard time containing myself. He was the Drum Major in high school so maybe that helps. Thanks to all on this web site.
Hi Granger! Heck yeah, that helps! lol My son played drums in band in middle school...but not since, so I am not sure if that will be his job or not. But that is the division for the triple threat! SO PROUD HERE TOO!
