Seriously, his wallet was stolen at BC (PIR 9/14).  It contained his Driver's License, Social Security Card and possibly his NFCU info.

All the information I am seeing on line about replacing those stolen items and reporting to the Credit Bureau is the need for an initial Police Report on the incident.

This just makes me ill because they already have enough they have to go through once they move into A School.  Just very concerned he will not get what he needs to properly take care of this once he leaves BC.

Help!

Lisa, his RDC's already probably notified the MA's or NCIS. Did he list you as an joint owner on his bank account?

Call the credit union to report the card as stolen.  As for his DL, is he going be driving during A School?  Call or go to your DMV for info to get a replacement.  No need for the SS card at the moment either.  I don't see a need for a police report.

From Navy Fed:  "To report a lost or stolen CUCARD, credit, or Visa Check Card, please call 1-888-842-NFCU (6328) or, if you are overseas, call 703-255-8837 collect. Alternatively, you may submit an eMessage. Please include the address to which your new card should be sent. If you are reporting a lost or stolen credit card, destroy any card(s) and Convenience Checks associated with the account."

By the way, NavyforMoms doesn't want members to use their last names in their screen name for the safety of their sailors, so if yours is the same as your son's, you should change yours.

Yes, I have seen the info on names.  But this isn't my last name or his, nor has it ever been a last name of mine.  I actually created it to hide my identity a long time ago.  But thanks for the heads-up just in case!

I worry about the stolen SS card b/c of identity theft later on, but there is really nothing we can do about currently :(  And no, I can't imagine he would need to be driving in A School.  And I understand now that he can use his military ID for traveling.

How did this situation resolve? I ask since my son  suffered a theft, too, in early September.

It didn't.  He only told his RDC that he lost it so it wasn't reported as a theft b/c that would have stirred up a lot of issues, according to my son.
