Hi moms, I know our son's boat is in drydock now but if there are "seasoned" moms who can offer any advice or relay information about their son's experience with the Kentucky, that would be great. Thanks so much: )

I know there are some with loved ones serving with that vessel within Sub Moms and Submariner Moms,  (Both are clickable links.)

Oh, thanks lemonelephant: )  I guess I have not yet learned how to navigate these pages because I just saw your reply today! Thank you for the hints and, fortunately, one mom has replied and supplied the information I was looking for. Last month I sent an email to the ombudsman of the Alabama(my son is out as a rider on that boat right now)but I haven't heard a reply so my next step will be to try one of the FRG's contact. Telephone numbers are listed, but I really don't want to interrupt their lives so will see if another email will do the trick. Again, thank you and if you think + or - on trying to go through the FRG please let me know. I will check here more often from now on: ))))  PS: I have seen your profile name on other sites and have always thought it is intriguing!

My Sailor is attached to a ship for the first time and it is also in dry dock (a different vessel), so I don't have any experience yet with the Ombudsman or FRG other than getting a welcome email after he transferred to his new command, so I know my Sailor gave my info to them.  Can you email your Sailor and ask him to make sure the Ombudsman/FRG has your email address?

Hi ya lemonelephant, Well, as of today it is a moot point! The Alabama is back in port and I got a very surprise call from him this afternoon. Yippee!! He had expected they would be out closer to 100 days so it was short by about 20 and I love that. I live just across  Puget Sound from Bangor/Bremerton and as soon as he says he is off watch, I'm heading over for a big ole hug. Hopefully that will be Sunday: ) I never did get any information from the Alabama nor have I from the Kentucky, but now that I have a Kentucky email address, I'm hoping all that will be resolved. And, if he didn't get the correct info on his page 2 will will need to discuss that: ) Thanks again for your reply and help.   Jaki

That is great!  Enjoy that time with your Sailor.
