Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 027 & 028
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Well, give it til Wednesday/Thursday. Bf said they can only write on Sunday and send out Monday. Maybe your SR wasn't able to write last Sunday for some reason, maybe he was on watch or something? Hmm. Don't give up, hopefully by the end of the week you'll hear something!!
Still no letter from my son either...division 28. Are people getting calls from these divisions yet?
Ok, thank you.
Ship 13 Div 27, I got my first letter from my son last Thursday. It was nice to finally hear from him. He said the first week or so was like prison, he wanted to come home, but he said it is getting better and they only gets about five hours of sleep at night. He said all they do is yell at them, everyone is mean. He said he eats grits with every meal. LOL He use to love grits, I bet he will not like them after he gets out. He said the food is like school lunch. He did say its really pretty there, the trees are really pretty, being from Texas, we do not have seasons like IL does. He said he has a job in there. So he stays really busy. Hope you all get your letters soon. Ive read mine about ten dozen times and cry everytime. LOL
He also said that he gets to be adopted by a church or organization for Thanksgiving. I sent him a letter the next day, letting him know that I would be there to adopt him and my nephew. I hope that makes his day. I will get to see him Thanksgiving and then the week after for graduation. So excited.
I got a phone call today too! :) So exciting! Only 4 1/2 minutes long.. but I'll take what I can get. He sounded so good and like himself, I was amazed. I was half expecting his call so I was able to compose myself really well! =) Division 027 really needs to step it up and work together though!
So happy for anyone who got calls today! Hope everyone did :)
I got a call too. He said that he missed the deadline to send mail a week ago Sunday, but sent some this past Sunday. He said he is receiving letters two days after we mail them. He is on Week 3 Day 1. His job is cleaning The Head, the bathrooms. It was great to hear from him since we haven't receive any letters yet.
Awww...now I'm sad. I didn't get a phone call today. Well, I guess I'll just re-read the letter I received a week ago :-) . This is certainly an emotional roller-coaster.
I got a call too! I was so excited to hear from my son! He is in Division 27. He is still sick and has been since swim qualifications. He sounded in good spirits although it bothers him that his division isn't working together as a team as they should. I was sad to hear that he didn't write home this week. :( I told him as he loves letters from home, we also love letters from him. I hope everyone that hasn't received letters from their SR, will get one this week. Thoughts and Prayers are with all of the families that are or have been involved in Hurricane Sandy's path of destruction. Have a good rest of the evening!
