Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 027 & 028

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Sorry for pouting earlier. I just realized how that might have come across. I am glad that you all did hear from your SRs. I'm sure it is comforting for you. As far as needing to get it together, I heard they tell every division that they are awful... I wouldn't be too concerned about that at this juncture.
Feel free to pout. We are here for each other. We will have good and bad days. Unfortunately its such a waiting game . I hope you get a phone call soon. Dont be terribly upset if it doesn't. No news is good news. Honestly.. I would have been ok without a call but I'm happy it came and it was a positive one.. hoping new letters arrive tomorrow or sometime this week! Crossing fingers and toes for everyone!
Mine said he was the man in charge of the head cleaning crew. At least we know our boys are working together.

Did he say it's tough being in charge of the crew? My son said he loves his job cleaning the Head, which is funny because he never did bathrooms here.

He seems to like it.  He is really homesick so I had to send him the suck it up letter today.  I know he won't want to hear it but sometimes a mom needs to be tough.  He is tough so he will stick it out and make it through.

I understand. A mom has to do what a mom has to do.  I got my first letter from my son today. He said that your son is really cool and has a great sense of humor. It sounds like he is a great guy. I am sure he will do very well.

Hi Queenb1069,   Just read your comment about the suck it up letter, it made me laugh.  My son is also in Ship 13 Div 027.  I got a phone call yesterday, and a letter.  He says he's a little homesick, but not to worry he's doing good.  He had his wisdom teeth pulled, and got sick, so I can understand why he must of felt homesick.  I know he'll make it through, he's tough.  I think they are stronger than they realize.  I can't wait to see him on graduation.

My husband has the job "roving security" and says that sometimes he could only get about 2.5hrs of sleep, 5hrs if he's lucky :(

my son is ship 13 division 27. am so proud. have gotten plane tickets booked. flying into o'hare. good place to stay and what is best way to get to and from graduation?  how

I and my family will be traveling from Grand Junction Colorado....boy im having a rough day...missing my son....anyways i have been going from one site to another getting info.  is there a meet and greet for this group? also would like to get a room as close as possible...any ideas....thanks!

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir11302012/page/meet-and-greets-f... this is the link for the Meet and Greets for our PIR group.

I am staying at Days Inn, it is a mile from the base. Also Navy Lodge is very close. Best bet is to go to maps.google.com and type in (hotels near recruit training command, great lakes, il). You can see which hotels are close and read the reviews.

which meet and greet are you going to? i feel so overwhelmed trying to figure all this stuff out...lol where are you flying in from? which airport? rental car?  ty lady! ;)
