Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 027 & 028

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I did. Sounds like he's doing well just dig 027 needs to work better together still. Says yesterday started week 4 or "hell week"

I did.

Received a letter from my son yesterday. He said they all got yelled at last week after calls home were made because several SRs were crying. He also said he oversees rack organization for Div 027. He said he's had to do "intense training" for some recruits who didn't have their things stowed properly. I guess some of the guys are still having problems folding and stowing to Navy standards. I had to laugh when he said "We iron all night long... when we could be sleeping."  LOL  Can't wait for PIR!

Just got off the phone with my fiance'!!!  I'm so happy!!!  He had watch and didn't get to call me last week when everyone else did, so I didn't think they would let him make it up...  I didn't even recognize is voice at first :(

Aww that's wonderful! Did he get to talk more than 5 minutes??

No.  He only had 5 minutes.  I wish we had a few more minutes though, but I was just so happy to hear his voice that I couldn't think of everything that I needed to say until we got off the phone.

That was the same with me when he called a week and a half ago! We were both busy trying to figure out how each other was and not wanting to talk about ourselves that we really didn't get to talk much :) But it was worth hearing his voice. 5 minutes was long enough to get some satisfaction and relief! =)

My son Div 028 also called just before Halloween, he has been busy writing, The letter this week was hurried and short but loaded with all the training they are doing before PIR. He has never said anything about being in charge  but "ironing towels at night", colds, and going for supplies at the NEX again on the 27th, might be the next time he could call. My SR is strong but you could hear the home sickness as the call continued. He was hoping to be adopted for Thanksgiving by friends who live just outside Great Lakes in Mundelein. I hope they have made contact, and can take a few more SR's. This week they have had a PT test, Personal inspection, Weapons turnover Inspection (Switching at the End of Watch), a 11/2 mile assessment,WORK OUT WORK OUT WORK OUT ("beatings")! They are starting Seamanship and getting ready to learn live fire. All this said in a one page letter. the hardest thing for him when they first started was the frosted glass on their compartments, he loves Fall and wanted to look outdoors.

He said they have been working like "dogs"! I told him "Woof! Woof! And Lap It up!" God

chose an army for Joshua based on those principles.

Hi MissG, which ship and division is your fiance in?

He's on Ship 13 Div 27
