Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We finally got our first letter and are so relieved, except feeling these kids' stress levels. Mine is suffering from the low humidity and has a perpetual bloody nose that requires a lot of hydration. He is disappointed that the obstacle course was removed and is liking the food and they get coffee (no caffeine or sugar allowed in AF boot). He's got most stuff memorized, but is struggling with the chain of command, but that just takes time. He mentioned a lot of non-stop talking that prevents them from getting points; and that the RDC's are spread out pretty thin with this extra large PIR group. Not sure what LLDs and SIQs are. Happy New Year everyone!

My recruit has sent me 4 letters now and he said the same thing about people talking. He likes the group he is with but said that he wishes they would just listen. He wants to call but said their points are low. This makes me sad. We haven't heard from our recruits in 4 weeks. I would love to hear my son's voice. I keep the phone with me 24/7. He is not a negative boy at all. He will  probably be upset I shared this. I feel for the recruits, too. It must be such a hard adjustment for them trying to figure out what is expected from them. Maybe they just didn't understand it was 'quiet time'.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year.

Got 2 more letters from my fiance! He wrote on Christmas and one last Sunday. He said Everyone's getting along great and they had to make their beds and fold their clothes perfectly in under 12 minutes. Their PI is 2hrs long and the guys just focus on home during those hours usually. He is Div 085 Yeoman and his job is demanding and hectic but he is liking it. He said when they get the letters it really helps boost moral! He has received 14 of my 25 letters so far. Hopefully getting a phone call soon! Hope you all had a blessed, safe and happy new year!! only 1 month until PIR! (:

My son says that he is very thankful for all 80 of the people he lives with. They all get along well.

I have especially good news today...My son along with 4 others on the USS Triton has been promoted to E2. Way to go to all 5 you. I am proud.

Now we just all need to get our phone calls.

Sometime around now they should all be getting it; I took my leap of faith and booked flights for my son and myself today. My son is active AF, so we are staying on base at the Gateway Inn. Somehow, us 085/086 families should sit near each other at PIR. That's great news about the promotions! Very encouraging!

i think that would be cool if we could all sit close. we need to figure out how to plan that.

I hate to sound so awful, but I'm happy that I'm not the only one who has yet to receive a phone call or letter.. I keep thinking it's just me until I come to this page...

I recieved three more letters from Travis today. He says the RDC's gave the division staff collar devices to wear on their NWU's. He is Petty Officer 1st Class. Their RPOC has the Cheif collar device. He also said they are working hard as a team to become one  strong unit and have learned their problems as a division & are working to fix it and become strong team. "Boot camp is fun & my division is working on leadership skills and coming together as a team!" The rest of his letters sounded very upbeat. They also had their first PI (Personal Inspection) and he got a 5.0 with zero hits! And they had their first DMI the same day and got another 5.0!! That was really exciting, besides the standing for an hour and a half lol. He also said they only get 15 minutes to shower 39 males! and 12 minutes to eat, so he is very good at stuffing his face and fast scrub downs haha. He said they like to walk around and sing love songs..He wrote all of these on the 30th so hopefully you all receive letters soon!

Gabe said he will probably pass PFA next time and took 2 hits on the test and got disciplined once for "attitude" from a fellow recruit and he is working hard. No flags yet for this group; hope they can rally. Still a lot of "chatter" when the RDCs aren't around. Should be getting better every day. He aced all swimming, of course. (Hawaiian!) It seems like he is becoming more comfortable in his new skin - hope so. Ordered my coin, but won't do the ribbon,$6 shipping?-nah. Oh, yeah, we got 3 letters today. xoxoxoxoxo

Well, we finally got "a call" this morning, it was for information for Military ID.  I was in shower, did not get to hear his voice.

Got a letter today that the "real call" should have been over New Years but he could not as he was in sick quarters after having wisdom teeth pulled.

The tears are very close  today....

I am so happy right now, I just got a call from Zo he is doing extremely well. He passed the PFA and swim test with flying colors he got a 4.7 out of  5.0 on one test. omg my heart is beating so fast right now. He told me that he is a LPO which I believe is a Leading Petty Officer. He did mention that the DIv was behind in points because of too much talking. I am so proud of him.

I too just got a call from my son!  He's doing well also. Didn't get that pink eye they were talking about and he said that shot wasn't really too bad.  Bless his heart, he burst into tears when he heard my voice. He said it's not bad there, it's just that he misses me and it's been 4 weeks since we have talked.  After 10 minutes they were yelling at him to hang up, so that's all we got.  Oh well.  I miss him so much, but I am so relieved he finally called.
