Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Wow, Arizona, beautiful there. Yes, we are very lucky to have both boys in Groton. My youngest wont
get his Sub assignment for a while, so we will be crossing our fingers that he stays... but if he doesn't,
that's ok too, he's all about the adventure! -

Yeah, Arizona is a long way from CT. Yes, Nathaniel is in CT on the San Juan. He graduated from his final A school in August and has had a couple of underways since then. Supposedly the big one is this August for about 6 months. I pray a lot too :) Keeps me sane anyway LOL
Well, we'll have to stay in touch sowe can tell our boys, men really, "hey I know some people in CT, Arizone, Florida, ND, or wherever.
we live near Pensacola and there is a navy base there. Think there is one in Panama City too.

Hey Cookie, there is a base in Panama City, it's where my oldest went to Dive School and is now certified
in Search and Rescue. I will be in CT on Friday for Sub School graduation and will "think a hello" to Nathaniel!!! Sure he is doing great. Weather is not as nice here as where you are, but it will be sunny
and 50!! -

Hi Cookie my son is also on the San Juan. Is there a Facebook page or anything like that for the San Juan? I like this site but sometimes it is hard to find things like this.
My son called yesterday and I was glad to hear his voice. I needed that pick me up.

There might be a FB page, but if it is like my son's sub's page, they won't post much. The subs are so secretive you just don't get to know much.

Our Son serves aboard the USS San Juan, and is stationed in CT. We live just outside of Houston which is a very long way for this Mom.. He arrived with his family in CT the first of December and is about to have is first underway.. We were blessed to get to travel to CT and help him get settled in the new home. I sure miss that tall boy, but am very proud of the sailor he has become.
Blessing to all, and thank goodness for this site. As our son does not share info very well…

Hello Cathy, My son, Nathaniel, is on the San Juan in CT. He works on Sonar and he graduated from A school in the summer. Bet they know each other :)

Cookie and Cathy my son John is also on the San Juan. He is a Torpedomen. He is one of the Newer guys. this will be his 3rd underway with the boat.

It must be a requirement that they all be tall, good looking and committed. I just go a text from my son, he still on land, I dont know how the moms did it before cell phones. I dont think I could stand it if I had to wait for months for a letter.
