Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in Division 086 - SR Abate - do you have a son or daughter in the division?  What A School are they headed to after PIR.  We live in Florida and will be driving up from Floida for PIR.

Has anyone besides me booked a hotel? I got a room at the residence inn, it was cheaper to go straight to the site. Just curious.

I've been mostly hearing Navy Lodge, Ramada Inn and Days Inn. We're staying on base at the Gateway, because my other son is active AF. Freedom Hall is more than a mile away, so we'll still have to drive.

Still no phone call from Trav... maybe tomorrow! 4 fridays & we will be a PIR!

There's not too many of us in this group. Just wondering if there are enough of us to meet at Sarge's. If weather cooperates, I will rsvp there in another week or so,and I'm not crafty-but I got an xlarge white puffy parka, so just look for the polar bear mom. Just kidding- maybe a balloon. There is a lot of facebook discussion, but hardly any 085s and maybe one 086. Hmmm....

I'm here!   I will be at Sarge's as well. Got a letter from my boy today. He says he's got this!  Unless they throw him a "curve ball" he will graduate on February 1st and he can't wait to get out of there! Oh, and he wants to send me tips on "maximizing my drawer space".  LMAO  He says he has learned many things, and I can tell.

I will be attending Sarge meet and greet. I look forward to meeting you guys.I received a letter from My SR yesterday and he seems to be doing really well. He says he misses his family and we all miss him too. He said that he will be folding his clothes military style for the rest of his life lol.

Yes, on the FB page -only 4 from Div 85 and 4 from Div 86 -my SR is in 86!  I know that we are specifically getting together with one family on Wednesday and Thursday during the day but I figure no matter how many people are there from each division at Sarge's M&G  -we will get some great information about a lot of things.  Also don't forget even though there  may not be a lot from our divisions  -I also would like to meet others who are headed to the same A School -will be a whole other family to bond with!  I am Mindy on FB page and my SR's dad is Mike A. on FB!

I am here too! We have our flight, hotel and just booked the car. Going to Sarges M&G. Jillymom have faith in the weather. I am, I have to. We are flying into Milwaukee, so have to drive 50 miles south. Looking forward to meeting all of you real soon. We have to all sit together!

Are you on FB?   My step son is in Div 086 as well!    There is a great group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/339622799478822/349956021778833/?no... -join -they will accept you an there is a lot of great information being shared between parents -has been wonderful.  There is a list in the docs files at the top of hte page that you can update and add your information and your SR information as well.   Where is your SR headed to A School -mine is headed to San Antonio Texas for HM Corpsman school.

Welcome to the site Lena, we all look forward to sharing our experiences with each other.

My son is also supposed to be staying in GL for ATT school - sonar tech. I'm hoping at Sarge's we will figure out how to make a group for our brother Div's at PIR. I am thinking we are one of the last groups on the right, if the 912 is in the middle, so we should look for each other a little short of far right so we can cheer them on together. I'll be with my son (my husband won't travel). We can figure this out at the M&G. Welcome, Lena! The location of the divisions is something I want to figure out. I will be pretty tired from 2 long flights and a long day, so hope to get there around 6 and pack it in kinda early. :)
