For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi All!
So, my son is also stationed in CT, is just graduating school finally, and just found out he's being deployed with the USS Springfield as well! Since he won't graduate in time (and the sub evidently was supposed to leave today) he will fly to their destination and meet the crew there in a few weeks. Bittersweet for me. Been thru this enough with others, now I'm not sure how I will handle him going...but I know where he's going, and I know it's a 'better' place.. compared to others! OH! and he is also tall! not sure what they're all thinking! He's almost 6'2"! lol

Hey Heather, you're going to do great. Remember, he will do as well as you do. It's the mother/son code
of strength.... ie, you will be amazed at how strong you can be for both of you. I was a mess when my first
deployed and today, mixed blessing, found out his younger brother Classed Up, and life will be in
fast forward for him. He is thrilled. I need to catch up. He is also wonderfully tall, 6 2" and a smile a mile
wide. Thank goodness for N4Ms...; ) -

My soon to be ex was active duty Air Force... dealt with him heading to iraq.. my 'ex' stepson just returned from Afghanistan with the army, and I work for the Air force, so i'm quite used to the deployments.. just harder when it's your own! LOL but, we'll be fine.. and i'm so proud of him!

My son Jacob, is ET Nav on the USS Rhode Island out of KingsBay, Georgia. He is part of the gold crew. He's been there for about 2 years and is doing great. So if you have a RI sailor, shout out!!!
