Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 307 and 308
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Has anyone heard any news from our division yet? My son is 19 and in 307. Received the box and form letter but no call yet. Just waiting, waiting and waiting. :)

I just heard from my son today. He too is 19 and in 307. They changed his ship number from 13 to 14 for some reason...Didn't really understand why. I just hope they will forward his mail to him. Hope you hear from your son soon. I certainly wasn't expecting a call this soon.

As of Sunday, 7-14-13, my son has not received any of the 5 letters that I mailed to the ship #13 address, I sure hope they forward them to him

Where is everyone staying for PIR. I need to make reservations today, but would like to stay where my son's friends mates are staying.

I got the box and the form letter. That's it so far. My son is in division 307.

My son is Ship 013 Div 307. I heard from him today and he sounded great! He has a cold (a mom can tell). He was not allowed to talk, just needed to get information from me. I made my reservations for PIR at the Ramada. $125 a night for 3 queen beds.

Hi OklahomaMama, how are you doing today? I have been on a roller coaster between being really proud of my son and being concerned about what my son is going through. I think this is mostly because I encouraged him to join the Navy.
