Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 940
Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I just got a letter from my son Tuesday. He is on ship 2 division 940. He said it was the hardest division, but he said he loves it. I just bought airline tickets as well for 8/16. Proud of everyone's children for choosing to serve our country.
Hi! Yes, my son said he is estatic that he made it into DIV 940, but that it is ridiculously hard :)...when us uses the word "ridiculously" to describe something...then it is crazy crazy hard. and yes, PIR is 8/16
I am excited that your son and mine were chosen for this division. Where are you from?
My son is also in this division. Nice that they all have birthdays close to each other. My son's birthday is Monday. I have not received any letters yet. But just recently got his address so I could mail him letters. I hope to be receiving one very soon. Do they have a lot more responsibilities than other divisions and would they have as much time as others to communicate with the families and write letters?
I have asked my son the same thing. I have not received any letters yet to find out. He called his girlfriend on Sunday, but couldn't say much. I know he is not liking it very much.
My son called on Sunday - it was great to hear him, but an emotional call - for him and us. He said it's tough but he is ok. He was disappointed that he hadn't received any our letters - and we haven't received any from him to date. Except the form letter - he was able to scribble a note on the back written 6/25. I hope by now he has received some of our letters.
jordansmom: The push divisions just mean that they were the last to fill up. They have few less days of training, but get it all done. Don't worry!
Ok, just realizing that this is the 900 division group. And they are a "push" division? That is very odd. They are the performing division but all in it do not have to have singing, marching/drill team, or band experience. Many will do administrative jobs for the VIPS, etc during the PIRs the perform in. Some may volunteer for the division, but I'm not sure all do. Ask your SR how he/she managed to be put in that division!
