Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 307 and 308

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

i dont know,  when is it going to be?  if its during the time the kids are moving to their new barracks, sounds like a nice idea, especially since they go to so much trouble to put this on for the families.

one day at a time :)

The meet and greet at Sarge's is the Thursday night before graduation.  There is a meal, meet and greet, and information for PIR at the event.

I got a letter today addressed just to Mom.  It was very short, but said he is doing well.  He mentions that he  got his dress uniforms including a Pea Coat.  I bet they all look handsome:)

Oh well, I guess your right.....one day at a time!

Gregsmom

how do i find out where to go for the meet & greet & times?

I got a bunch of letters today. This week is hell week. He explained about their call getting cancelled. They took a test and my son was a high score for the division. Overall they averaged high enough to earn a flag! They took their swim test. They got a lot if IT. They weren't getting a lot if mail last week which stressed him out. I write every day so he was worried something was wrong. One day they had ITE which was worse than IT I guess. Lasted 45 minutes and they didn't get mail. He said burn a lot of candles for them this week. Lol.

glad you got to hear some news, thats awesome!   did he say anything about their test & if anyone failed?   what is IT & ITE?

will say lots of prayers for them all.

Lauri

No clue... IT is intensive training and as he put it "we had ITE, not just IT. They announced it to the whole ship. It was 45 minutes and everything on the card. No mail because of that." He said all but 3 passed the test. He didn't say anything about the swim test other than he passed on the first try. They got uniforms and haircuts. They are getting pictures soon. It's hell week. Their phone call last week got cancelled. He says all the IT is making him bigger. Lol. He said that overall things are good. He said "I'm not here to have fun, but it happens." He shared some funny stories. He's anxious for PIR and some time to relax.
GregsMom, I got a letter today from my son and according to him they will start Hell Week tomorrow, training day 4-1. He's on Ship 014 Div 307. Other than telling me he passed the swim test the first time and did good on his personal inspection he didn't give any more specific information. OklahomaMama, I'm glad your son is better with the information. Nice to hear some of the things going on.

hi mom.

got a letter today, was happy .. he mention he passed the swim test, he very excited because he had a problem with the float test:)  he also said that they been getting alot of IT because the group been talking and acting up. he seem to be upset because they arent working together as a team. he also said he didnt like the the question survey i printed. and that am writing too much.  i guess i got a gruppy letter from him. though i was happy to receive a letter from him, and i no he having a rough week or two. I  am a bit sad that he doesnt see that all my writing letters and sending questioniers/cards  are to show my love. i guess he made me feel crappy, when to sleep last night crying . but am over it.

he have a great relationship with his dad, and i love that but boy.......  dad got a 4 page letter with more updates on him and mention a whole lot.  too my one page letter.   he needs to relize he needs to show mom some love because it mom that writes and show love daily. ;(  not no one else. lil brat :)

Hi Carmen47 - I know what you mean.  I got a 1 page letter that basically said everything was good and that I should send pictures of his guitars and ask his friends to write.  My husband has not gotten a letter yet.  I know they are under a lot of stress and that's why they are either lashing out or writing 1 page letters with no info.  I have to think this is one of those times when they will understand later that we are only trying to help.  I know what you mean about being jealous.  Although I new when he left that he is not a letter writer.  I guess this is one thing that the Navy is not instilling in him!

In the mean time, I know what you mean about feeling crappy.  There is nothing worse than sitting on the sidelines of a game you can't see and don't know what the rules are, not knowing what's going on.  My husband is a great guy, but not a big help when it comes to feelings and emotions.  That's why I'm so glad to have this site so I know more about what's going on and have the support of other Mom's.  I just wrote a letter to my son telling him to hang in there and do the best he can.  For my part, I'm going to do the same.

So I'm quacking for the In Laws and doing the best I can too.

I hope your day gets better.

Hi Gregsmom

I just started a letter out, after reading what the other moms had to say. Im right there with ya feeling the same way. I cant get 2 words out of my son at home, let alone a detailed letter.  At least the letters i did get, he loves & misses us & home & oh good food, lol...

Does anyone know where to find the info on the Sarge's meet & greet?  Hope to possibly meet up there,  If we go, we should wear little name tags with our screen names.

Lauri

Hi LauriB,  Seeing your post about missing good food.  My son is under the impression that I don't know how to cook (I do) so he's been telling me the food is good.  We also have rule in our house that you eat what is made (or not) but there is nothing else until the next meal.  I guess this prepared him well for BC.  Some of the other ladies have posted that certain foods make them weepy.  For me it's bananas.  No one else in our house will peel a banana and eat it except for my SR.  The first week he was gone I bought bananas and had to throw them away at the end of the week.  Now when I go by the bananas I get emotional.  I try not to cry because I could end up in a loony bin if people see me standing over the bananas in the produce section crying.

The meet and greet at Sarge's is on Thursday August 15 at the Sundance Saloon from 5:30 to 8:30.  My understanding is that this is a private party and would be appropriate for all family members.  After 8 weeks of "talking" I'm thinking I should recognize everyone!  There is a sign up under events tab so the hosts know how many to prepare food for.

Semper Fortis

Thanks for letting me know, I will go in & check it out.. Im sure we will be there & checked into our hotel in time... I will keep you posted.
