Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi!  My son is also ship 14 div 19!  Sounds like our sons are doing great so far.  My son seems to be really thriving, his voice sounded so confident and grown-up!  We are driving to PIR from Fort Worth, TX- long drive, but we have a group going, so we'll take turns.  Great to "meet" you!

Good Morning Ship 14 Div's 19/20

Could someone please reassure me that I am NOT the only parent to NOT get a call from my SR. Not gonna lie....it's making me insane. I just want to hear his voice...you know how mom's are!

I've given options...I dont care if it comes via letter, call, carrier pigeon, smoke signal or morse code at this point.

People are looking at me funny for having my phone taped to my head....Though Diane the rubber band is a nice alternative....thank you for that laugh!!

I took the phone to my nephews CHRISTENING!!! it was on vibrate of course.....I was a stand in god parent as one of them couldn't make it....I had to explain how if I buzzed I was outta there....luckily they understood...but oh the looks.... I am NOT missing this call!

I will continue to hope for a letter this week....I know he knows my number....LOL

Ok, everyone have a great day...thanks for letting me rant....I just want to hear his voice.....

Hugs and prayers to all of you and our future sailors  :)

I did not get the "I'm here" call, I did not get the box and I did not get a call this past weekend.  His father got the first call and the box and his girlfriend got the second call.  I know exactly how you feel about wanting/needing to hear his voice.  I begged my son to call me before he got on the plane and he didn't.  It honestly broke my heart :(  Chances are the reason your son didn't call was because he wasn't able to.  I'm sure once he gets a chance to call, you'll be the first one to hear from him!  Chin up mama!  Only 37 more days!

Indeed......I am trying to keep my chin up....as far as I know his father hasn't gotten a call either but it would be like him...unfortunately, to not tell me (we're divorced).... Its all good before he left he reassured me that I was the one number he would call and made me promise to let everyone know. And I will if I ever get a call. I did speak to him while he was at the airport and even when he landed in IL befopre they got on the bus. I then got the "I'm here" call...and the............crickets..........nothing!

I know that the Navy subscribes to the 'no news is good news' but c'mon.... We're MOMS!!!!!

On the up side I did just get his Ship 14 coin and my Mother of a sailor coin. Small victory...I'm still waiting for his great Lakes RTC coin.

Thanks for the reassurance...and I hope you hear from your future sailor soon. It's not easy being a mom!!

Hugs  :)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat (divorced).  I only knew my ex got the call/box because I asked him!  Otherwise I wouldn't have even gotten a copy of the form letter (he faxed it to me a week later after I asked for it).  Thank goodness for my son's girlfriend (even though I'm jealous she got the call this weekend).  She's keeping me in the loop of things and even going with me to PIR!

Scootersmom. Check your inbox I messaged you privately. I hope you get a call during the week.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh My heart just broke into a million peices for you still no call???? whaaaaaaaaaaaaat im so sorry and I can only imagine how you are feeling right now!!!!

Hugs Hugs Hugs from one momma to another !!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!

Good Evening!

Letter writing!  Who's doing it?  How many are you sending?!?!  I've heard "write write write! they love letters" but then on the other hand I've heard that the more letters the SRs get from "mommy" the more likely they are to be targeted and assigned extra "fun stuff".  So whaddya think?

I've been sending something out everyday, a letter, a card. I have her sister & brother send things out to! But I don't put my name as return sender, just my initials! Im sure she is getting tons of mail not only from us, but others (her friends) so hopefully she doesn't get assigned extra "fun stuff" LOL But if she does, she most definately can NEVER say we didn't take the time to write! :)

OH boy!, If that is true my poor son......I think as long as you are not drawing on or putting stickers on the envelope you are ok.  I guess I will find out when I get my first letter from him!  He may very well tell me to stop sending one every day LOL
