Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good morning Mamma's

I am feeling hopeful again today....finishing up at work aroung 12 then racing home to check the mail box. This is probably the first time I've been grateful to work 6 days a week....it keeps me occupied. Keep your fingers crossed for me....PLEASE!! I also have my phone tucked in close so as not to miss any call I may receive. Then there are the Boston Red Sox and Bruins to cheer for tonight....and the my beloved New England Patriots tomorrow...... Buit NONE of it can compare to getting a call or letter from my SR......

I hope you all have a great day and enjoy some form of communication with your SR's

Hugs to all !!!!

Talk to you later today!!

Hi everyone! I just got my first letter and it made my day! First he made me laugh and then he made me cry and then he ended by making me laugh again! It sounds like they are only getting letters on Sunday. He went to church and he said it made him laugh and he enjoyed himself because people were clapping and singing. He's going back he says because he had a good time and it's the only time he can let down his guard. LOL

Hugs to everyone and hope the mailman brings you letters of Hope today!

Finally, the mail man came! There were letters for me and the boys! Does anyone know why the return address is different from the mailing address he sent? I should continue writing to the address he sent with the PIR letter, unless he tells me otherwise, Right?

Surprised to hear he had his teeth pulled. He told me of some friendships he is making, others going on to be Corpsman as well. Glad he is getting support. He is designing the division flag for the guys side along with another SR. He said his A school in San Antonio shouldn't be starting until January, so we both have our fingers crossed that he will be granted leave for Christmas. I know the boys would love to see him since they wont be able to come with me to PIR.

Don't think I would have made it the rest of the week if mail didn't come today, but Thank you Everyone for all of your support. These forums are a blessing. Enjoy the rest of your weekends :)

My son is in Ship 14 Div 19 and going on to be Corpsman. I wonder if his A school is also starting in January?

I'm sure we wont know anything for sure until PIR, but to have to sit and wait in San Antonio for 6 weeks sounds like a bummer for classes to start.  I guess you figure the first week they get there is Thanksgiving holiday and then 2 weeks later shutdown for Christmas, seems unlikely they would start for 2 weeks of classes before the shutdown for Christmas/New Years. If your son finds out it would be good to know and I will pass on info if I get any word as well.

On yesterday's phone call, my SR said he might be staying there for a while.  I asked if his PIR changed, he said NO! (guess that was the wrong question!)- just that he might be staying there later.  Then he had to go.  Maybe this means they will delay the A School/San Antonio start till January. Oh well, just guessing, we'll know soon enough!

My husband is friends with a corpsman, last name begins with a S...from Texas? Maybe yours?

I think the Navy just combined both names into one... So they probably have it starting with a "P".

So happy to hear about all the calls and letters!  I ran to the mailbox but no letter! Hoping for Monday :-)  Here is hoping for more calls and letters often for all of us :-)

Good morning Ship 14/div 20 Navy moms. I haven't received any phone calls (he called his girlfriend last weekend) or letters. I was wondering if anyone's SR has mentioned a fellow recruit with the initials I.T.C.? I think he's a hull technician. Any info would be great. I can't help but worry even though I know "no news is good news".
Good afternoon moms no call this weekend but received a letter book my flight but yet to reserve lodging or car rental any suggestions with good rates will be highly helpful my baby girl is in Div 19 anyone from this div received phone calls ?

Hi my daughter is in Div 19 also.  Hubby is going to PIR and is staying at Navy Lodge and still up in the air on a car rental.  He might just use Mass Transit.  She called her boyfriend last night at 545 est and spoke for 10 min.
