Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Sorry to hear that, although it isn't a "Navy" thing, not being able to borrow leave days (go in the hole) is decided command by command. I'm not familiar with how her school runs things compared to the larger training commands, so I don't know if this is usual there or not.
You'll have to have your Christmas in summer!

Yes and as we also have a son active Army we are familiar with this but it is the first time our daughter is away from home. Thank you very much for replying. I will keep in touch and she is close to our hearts no matter the time of the year. And happy Christmas to all the moms and dads that are missing their children because they are keeping our country safe

She won't be doing nothing. She'll have some duties during that time just as she has been having. It is up to the command to decide if the Sailors will have leave over the holiday stand-down or not. I'm sorry that she isn't being allowed to go in the hole on Leave. Most of the commands do allow it at this time of year, but apparently not all of them do. She should be able to have Leave when "A" School is over before reporting to her first duty station.
