Big shout out to you BQB!! When I got the email notification of this discussion I had to pop in and say HI! hope all is well in your world!!
Hahaha - I just sent you a private message.
Wow-this must have taken you quite some time to compile. I love all these thoughts. Great work! I will use them in my daily living, if you don't mind. I am glad that you also added the person who originally said them. I have one on my wall in my office - I think it is cool and makes one think! Here it is --
Life likes a little mess. All patterns need a snarl.
The best patterns know how best to heed a snarl.
Every high style, every strict form was once nonce.
The best way to save a snagged pattern? Repeat the snarl.
Eden used to snow in fractals, rain in syncopated runs.
Adam never imagined he would hear his seedlings snarl.
Tug the wrong thread, and your wool sweater vanishes at once.
Death pulls at a wisp of us - and just like that, it's freed the snarl.
What is it about order that we love? This sense.
Maybe that a secret informs the pattern?
Is it a toddler's joy in doing things again?
Is it the entropy in us that warms to pattern?
I never intended this line to rhyme on again and again.
Then again, sometimes it's the snarl that adorns the pattern. Amit Majmudar
What a great list. I kept thinking I had to be at the end of it but it just kept going. It really makes you think. Thank you for taking the time to type it.
I didn't compile the original list. Paymaster compiled it. I should have made her name bigger. There's a lot of really good information on this site. Use the search box. Sometimes it takes a bit of effort but the info is here. We are lucky to have Kay (admin of this group) and a number of other individuals (in this and in the Nuke moms group) who have been stalwarts in tirelessly answering questions. Once a Navy mom - always a Navy mom - you care unconditionally.

I found this discussion which was started in 2008. Most of the guys have forgotten their BC days. To keep things light - remind them of some of the funny times during BC - or you can certainly copy of paste a few from the above discussion.
I also look for stuff in newspaper too - love some of the news quotes from Jay Leno and David Letterman. Quirky weird funny stuff.

Persistence . . . Nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. Calvin Coolidge
