we sent a small bible with our son and we got his box back so apparently it didn't fit their specifications. He also has his wisdom teeth so I've been worried about that also. He's been in a week for Bootcamp in Chicago. We also are wondering about lodging in Chicago for his graduation I would like to take our whole family but not sure how we could afford it.

Check out the Navy Lodge. It is the cheapest and closest to graduation. You will need to reserve it in your son's name.
Is there a site? Do you know what the cost is?
He went in on the 4th so I'm wondering what day is that for Graduation, if he makes that. I've heard sometimes they don't pass something and then that delays things. I guess we're supposed to get a letter. This site is so big I'm not sure exactly how it works. Do you just pick people? We're from California, so I'd like to connect with someone from our area. do you know how to go about that?
When you get your letter, you can join his PIR group. In the meantime, join the new moms group (link below). There are other boot camp groups too. Are you using a mobile device to look at this site? If so, it can be hard to see the tabs which make getting around the site easier. Try the "desktop view".
I did get the form letter yesterday. Not a personal letter but the names listed for his graduation and other stuff. Was kind of disappointed nothing personal but I guess he can write to us at some point, or can we only write to him?
We actually booked a room at the Residence Inn in Waukegan (near base). If you are with a lot of people, this may work out because they have two rooms suites with a kitchen so you won't have to eat out all the time. They also do roll away beds.
I believe when we went, the Navy Lodge was $65 per night? ($66 now) No tax, and they have a sack breakfast for you the day of PIR. The downside is they have no shuttle so you'll have to get to base either by cab or drive.
It is clean, close and they understand the process, plus there is an NEX a block away.
There is a link on here for the site. Look to your right.
