This is a 2 groups in 1, We will be doing the USS Boxer which has 1093 Navy Personel on it and the 13th MEU/ Marine Unit which has 1175. They work together and are currently on Deployment. The Boxer is an Amphibious Assualt Ship that takes and trains with the Marines. We have included the USS Harpers Ferry and the USS New Orleans, they too have part of the 13th MEU attached to their ships.
We have a TENTATIVE schedual of the middle of September. We will be doing this in Waves like the other large projects that we have done.
Please email both Sue and myself with your willingness to help so we know how many we have. With Sue working I ask you add me to so I can keep the PC's moving while she is at Work..

Good evening Maryellen,
I am station on the USS BOXER. I would like to personally say THANK YOU for providing all the pillowcases. It was a GREAT surprise to receive the them. I must say it brought lots of smiles. I have been in the Navy for 19 years and this was the first time to receive something other than Girl Scout cookies. I do a little stitching i.e. name tapes, patches, hemming. I know it takes time to produce products. I picked a race car theme. With my 2 year old son in mind, I will pass this along to him when I return home… Again, THANK YOU for all the time cutting and stitching we all GREATLY APPRECIATE it. Please spread the thanks to your crew.
Very Respectfully,
SH1(SW/AW) A. E. Bxxxxx
3M Assistant
USS Boxer (LHD-4)
I wrote to him yesterday and here is his reply:
Good evening Mrs Sue,
It was a pleasure reading your story on my 39th birthday, today. It's amazing how loving thoughts can change the moral of so many people, although it is a lot of labor. We surely appreciate the generosity of you and your company. I chose the race car theme. My son is turning 3 this Monday, 6 January and loves cars. When I return from this deployment, I will give him the pillowcase and hope he passes it down to his children. I wish you success and may the New Year bring you Joy and Happiness.
Very Respectfully,
SH1(SW/AW) A. E. xxxx
Heads at ease,
Heads at Ease,
My name is FC1(SW) Jeremy. I am stationed onboard the USS New Orleans LPD-18 and am currently deployed in the 5th fleet area of operation. I am from New Mexico and I have a beautiful wife and two amazing daughters waiting for me back home.
First off thank you for your support and well wishes. It is greatly appreciated. Secondly, a special thanks to Barbara P for making the orange Denver Broncos pillowcase. As soon as I saw that one I had to get it as that is my team. I appreciate the time that you took to make this as well as any others. It is nice to know that even though we are thousands of miles away, we are still supported by total strangers.
Very Respectfully, FC1(SW) J. M.
then I wrote back to him and here is his response:
Ms. Lamberson,
Thank you for the email. I know sometimes we as service members forget to thank those who go out of their way for us so I wanted to make sure you and your organization get the thanks you deserve. I’m sure your son told you that while we are away from our families and home, little things like this turn out to be huge for our morale.
My amphibious strike group has been on deployment since August 23rd. I missed my wife’s birthday, thanksgiving, Christmas, and my oldest daughter’s birthday. I will miss my youngest daughter’s birthday as well as my anniversary. So needless to say this deployment is going by slow. We are just past the halfway point of our 8 month deployment. I look forward to coming home and being with my family.
Even though you don’t get an email from every service member that receives a pillowcase, trust me when I say they are appreciated. I hope you have a great day and keep doing what you are doing.
V/R, FC1(SW) J. M.
a couple more from the NO:
Good Evening,
I just received a pillow case made by Pamela M. Thank you very much for the thoughtful gesture. I already put it on my pillow. It was beautiful and I love it. Many of us appreciate things like this. Thank you again for the love and hopeful thoughts. Best wishes.
Very Respectfully, HM3 (SW) Crista HSVS Department
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to send my sincere appreciation for the pillowcase that was made for me by Mrs. Lyn. We thank you so much for your support of the men and women of the Navy. I thank you for your support.

James CMDCM(SW/AW/EXW) Command Master Chief

Happy New Year! Thank you so much Lyn for taking the time to make the wonderful pillow case. I truly love it and will treasure it. It has been a long and busy deployment. We left 23 Aug and hopefully will return sometime in 2014. Walking into my office tonight and seeing the gift made me happy.
Your support is greatly appreciated and it means a lot to all of us who are deployed. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Very Respectfully,
Cris

got this note today!
Hello and good afternoon,
I just wanted to shoot you a quick email saying thank you for the pillow cases, from the Marines of BLT 1/4 aboard the U.S.S New Orleans.
They were down in the chaplains office and I decided to bring some up to the berthing and hand them out, they are much better than the dirty old ones provided by the Navy and, colors and patterns give a sense of home to our racks.
Thank you,
Respectfully signed,
Corporal Sean xxxxx
Field Radio Operator
BLT 1/4 H&S Co. S6

sometimes I am alittle slow answering, but do try to do all that come in:
Good morning,
I received some pillow cases from you all during the holiday season and wanted to send you all big thank you! What a treat to have them shipped over to us on deployment. Thank you! I wish your organization well, and please let me know if I can do anything to help you!
Very Respectfully,
ENS Lawrence
Sales and Disbursing Officer
USS Boxer (LHD 4)
Sue, it's funny to see a lot of the same fabric that I have used in the pictures above! You must have tons of fabric!!
