Justin went to Captains Mast on July 22. Rcvd punishment - 45 day restriction, reduce in pay, reduce in rank. Have not heard from him since that day and what I do know (from the JAG attorney that was advising Justin) is that the incident that brought him to Mast was bogus, could not have happened but that there were other charges. Attorney states he cannot tell me??? Just want to know what is going on, want to know what he was punished for. More so because JAG stated that is highly probable that he will be separated from Navy - goes before Separation board for decision. Yes, that is why I would like to know what is going on. Something does not seem right and there is something I am not being told..

Any advice on where I  can turn to get some communication/answers.

*Side note: After Christmas stand down, Justin went back to sub school and in March sought counseling. GF of 4 years broke up with him and the winter weather was making him feel blue and depressed. They put him on Prozac. Big Mistake! Have a feeling that the diagnosis of depression just killed his Naval career.

If the prozac was not prescribed by a military doctor, if he went to see someone on his own, OR if it was a military doc and  he did not disclose it fully to the command, either is grounds for separation.   He probably popped positive on a random urinalysis and there was nothing in his record allowing the prescription (at a guess).  Especially with subs and a high clearance, they are gone.   As for other charges, that could be many things.

The JAG cannot tell you anything because of privacy laws, your son is an adult and would need to sign papers allowing the lawyer to share with you.

You will not hear from him while he is on restriction, they cannot use a phone or send emails.

U will hear from him while he is on restriction , my son was on restriction, same as yours, they can call out every Sunday, so be patient he will get a phone call Sunday,

Any status? How is your son doing?
