I woke up this morning to a bunch of great emails and pictures from the USNS Big Horn, they really enjoyed the Pillowcases.

Maryellen,

Thank you for the Pillow Case. My name is Mark Dean and I’m a Merchant Marine with Military Sealift Command.
I’m stationed on the USNS Big Horn and we are in the Persian Gulf. We supply fuel and food for all of the Navy Ships stationed over here.
We spend most of the time with the Air Craft Carrier George H.W. Bush.

Thank you for thinking about us and supporting our troops,

Mark

To: Maryellen Peller of Celera, AL

Thank you so much for the pillowcases that arrived at our ship today. We held an all hands meeting this morning, and distributed the gifts. We took a couple of pictures of the crew, since we are pier side today in a Persian Gulf port.

Thanks again for your thoughtful gift. Our crew is most often starved for contact from home, and will be very pleased to steam out of the Middle east later this year.

Best Regards,

Mxxxxx S. Txxxxxx, Chief Mate

I want to personally say thank you and the folks at Heads of East for the wonderful gifts you've provided for the crew of USNS Big Horn. Well received, many thanks!

 Hello Nora B,

This is Tiwanda from the USNS Big Horn, I would like to thank you for the pillow case that was made by you, that was very thoughtful and I am please to have such support back at home…….

Above are some pictures that were taken due to your support…….

Thank you kindly!

She sent the same photos that Maryellen posted.  Tiwanda is in this photo

Ms. Peller,

This is the finest gift I have received in 24 years of service. I will use it always.

Your motto says that you are a Navy mom. I hope your son or daughter is safe and returns home to you soon.

Very Respectfully,

BRADLEY A. Rxxxxxxxxxxx

Greetings,

Today we were given the pillow cases created by Heads at Ease. It is a wonderful and thoughtful gesture that
was well received by the crew. I appreciate the kindness and time you spent making our pillow cases.

V/R,
Bill Dxxxxx
Chief Engineer

Ms Peller my name is James Sxxxxx and I’m currently aboard the USNS BIG HORN and we’re currently deployed in the Persian gulf.
I just received the pillow case made by you and just wanted to say thank you. Every little gift and trinket from home helps with the moral of being over here away from our families.

Today has been a day of many blessings. I received in the mail today a Shield of Strength from the chaplain of the 10th MTN Div. on the back of it is a verse that hit home today: Be Strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9.

I cried today, when I read this, it has hit home for me in many ways. The card that came with it Thanks each and everyone of us here at Heads At Ease, and blesses us all. Everyone really love the PC's and they are their treasures.

fabulous Maryellen!

I got some emails today as well.  Need to answer them.  Nice dog tag and of course, as I said before, they need someone to send things to.  Those dog tags  are for everyone.  thanks for posting the photo and the description.

catching up again today.  This is an AF unit, not sure which one though.

A huge thank you from the Middle East! We just received your package. A
special thank you to Carol  from Alexandria, PA. We are greatly
appreciative of your program, and all that you do.

Good morning

To all of the wonderful and polite people at Heads at Ease, I want to say thank you so much for the beautiful pillow cases, I think everyone onboard USNS Bighorn was surprised when we receive these very nice gifts, we are currently serving overseas and will be heading home pretty soon, I will forward some pictures of our daily life in my next email.  Once again thank you from all of us and God bless you all!!!!!

Very Respectfully,   Christopher

He sent a bunch of photos:

Awesome photos and thank yous!!!

he sent some more, but I haven't looked at them yet.

A big thank-you to Stitches of Love, Dayton, Ohio!

I appreciate the time and effort that was put into this project for us. We do what we do, for you guys. It warms my heart, and helps me sleep at night, to know that we are being thought of every day as much as we think of you!

                                     Much love always,

MA3 Alberto , USN  Semper Fortis

 Hi Sue,

Yes, I am on the Bighorn. I’m part of the Navy Embarked Security Team assigned to this MSC ship.

My pillowcase is solid blue with a Navy themed border on the opening. It has ships and rating badges and warfare devices. I actually appreciate the pillowcase because they didn’t have enough pillowcases for me and my shipmates, so we slept on bare pillows! I would send a picture with my new pillowcase, but it’s pretty hard to attach pictures to our e-mail.

It’s funny that you mention the Makin Island because we get to pull alongside them once in a while. I’ve also gotten the chance to see the USS George H. W. Bush. Have any pillowcases made it their way? Deployment is deployment. It sucks! The heat in the Middle East is unbearable! Our deployments are shorter than the USS’s, but they get the advantage of pulling into exotic and fun ports. Being on a USNS has its pro’s and con’s!
