There are two places, which is why there is some confusion.

They may stay at the Navy Lodge, no problem.  The Lodge is located in the military housing area, just offbase.  They are not supposed to stay at the Gateway Suites, located on the base.

Has anyone had any trouble having their sailors stay at the Naval Lodge after PIR, for visitation purposes. I plan to room there for the graduation weekend and I want my sailor to be able to spend time with me. I know my response is like a year overdue but I am curious. My sailor is staying in Great Lakes for A school as well and it was a bit confusing to me.

When he checks into A school, he lets them know.  Should be no problem getting a quick chit (permission in writing, verbal permission means nothing).

Just so I understand (sorry it has me confused also) we are planning on staying in Illinois for a few days so if we stay at the navy lodge he can stay with us?

No, he has daytime liberty and must back in his barracks each evening. But he can visit your hotel room during the day. This is true no matter where you stay.

Thanks for the info. Do they have the ceremony available to watch at the Navy Lodge like the other hotels in the area do?

Why not call 847-689-1485 and ask?

how do you make reservations at the Navy Lodge? any phone numbers or information? thank you

Your Sailor will have to return to his Barracks in the evening (my sons return time was 2145) they only have daytime liberty after PIR, and if they are "A' schooling there.  PIR weekend you still only have daytime liberty with them, but no worries most of their liberties start at 0800! But they can go back to the Lodge with you and spend the day there. After PIR since your SR is "A" Schooling there expect to be without them for a couple hours after PIR so they can get checked into their "A" school.

question on staying at the Navy Lodge. Our sailor is in A School and we wanted to go for a weekend visit.  Can we stay at the Navy Lodge?  Thanks!

Oh boy...I didn't know that. Curiosity - why is that?
