Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

How about if all who sign up on this site, make a commitment to those who have helped you through your difficult times, that you will remain on this board for at least one year from the date you sign up to help those who come behind you?

Remember how frustrating and lost you were when your SR or DEPper first joined and you had no clue what was happening? Remember how nice it was to have those here to help you through it. Well, now that you have a brand new sailor in the family and you have gotten what you needed from this board, don't just rush off. Pass that information along. If nothing else, there are people on this board who are/were interested to know how your situation worked out for you. Good.....Bad.....we all became emotionally involved with you. Don't leave us hanging.

P.S. and if after a year you'd like to stick around for another year. That would be OK too.

That's a wonderful idea!!

I realize our Navy loved ones get moved, but it would be nice if NavyforMoms members would stick around the groups they've been a part of even after our loved ones move on -- so the new people in the group have someone to turn to!!   Never too much help or info, as far as I'm concerned.

I am stuck with this site lol been here since 2009 not when mine went to boot but when he went to Afghan have made many cyber friends and even have met a few of them.  Remember we understand when others don't that includes deployments  relocations and all that stuff.

I have been around since 2008.  Made lots of friends.  I do help when able and asked as do many other long timers.  The best place for a quick answer is in chat and if we can't help we can usually advise when to find the answers.  Not going anywhere any time soon love morning coffee and afternoon break time.  Oh one more thing Once a Navy Mom Always a Navy Mom.

I'll stay after my son is situated. Its important for the veteran members to help out the newbies, even if its just encouragement.

I plan on staying even after my son gets out of the Navy, which is still several years away.  I'm with Judy, have made some wonderful friends here, some I've met, some I just "chat" with.  I'm in I think 9 groups here and try to help the newbies.  Can't see leaving!!

Amen!  mrsb
