We are adopting both of these ships and they are carrying the 24th MEU.  If you have some pillowcases made please let me know!

Although we did the USS New York in Dec 2009 (thank you Ally for heading up the delivery of the pcs)

they had not deployed at that time.  Now, they are deployed with a Marine unit on board so we will do them again.  And there probably aren't many on the ship that were there in 2009.

I want to thank everyone who had anything to do with making and shipping the pillowcases.  I was lucky enough to get a motorcycle pillowcase and other than my wife and daughter my enjoyment at home comes from riding and working on my bike. So now when I go to sleep at night I feel that much closer to being in my happy place.  So from myself and the USS NEW YORK I would like to extend my greatest thanks and appreciation.

My sincerest,  Petty Officer Txxxx, But you can call me Philip. J

To Whom It May Concern:

I just wanted to take a moment and send you a big thank you for the heart felt pillow cases. They are beautiful and remind me of home. They help remind us of why we are out here and give us that sense of home that some of us are longing for.  Once again thank you and my head will rest peacefully on my pillow with a little piece of love from some caring moms back home!

Very Respectfully, Catherine

Thank you for the pillow cases, our ship got a couple of boxes in and grabbed two cases for myself, they will go nicely on my rack. I look forward to working them into the rotation with the two pillow cases my mom made me a couple years ago!

Sincerely,
Jessie

Good Morning,

My name is LT Jared xxxx and I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful pillowcases sent out to our ship.  I know they were all very well received and a welcome and unexpected surprise.  I myself received a very nice design from a Mary Elliott and wanted to pass on my personal thanks.  It will make for an interesting story to tell my daughter as I chose a pillowcase to use that I can then pass on to her as a gift.  Thanks again for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

Sincerely,

LT Jared

Ma’m

I just wanted to send a thank you for the Florida Gator pillow case. As a native of Gainesville, FL who hasn’t been back in almost three years, it is nice to have a little piece of home right next to my head. Again thank you for your time and your thoughts.

Very Respectfully,

ET2(IDW) Alexander  USS New York

Thanks Lisa!

To all,

I lost my paper with the name of the caring person who made my pillow case, but I was very touched to receive it. As I always tell my friends, family and everyone every sends care packages that everything makes a difference and everything is special. I enjoyed going through the boxes and picking the perfect one; it was the highlight of my day. I don’t know who made mine, but I am thankful for the time and effort put into. My head rest easier knowing there are many many people depending on me to keep them safe and who are always wish and praying for our safe return.

With Much Thanks,

Christopher D  USS New York

  Hello,

I was recently deployed onboard USS IWO JIMA. I received one of your pillowcases in a care package that came to the ship and I just wanted to say thank you. We all appreciate getting things from home that help to brighten our time away from our families. Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Good Morning (Good Evening)!

I am just writing to say Thank you so very much for all of the pillow cases that you sent to the USS NEW YORK. The days get very long and tiring out here on deployment and simple things like pillow cases can really make a day that much better. They are all so very beautiful and on behalf of myself and the crew, the time and energy that went into making them means the world. I hope that you all have a great day. Please send my regards to everyone.

Ms. Lyn L,

Thank you very much for the pillow case that you made.  It is perfect!!  I can tell a lot of time and effort went into it and it is greatly appreciated.  The Marines and Sailors here aboard the USS New York have had a long deployment and gifts such as yours help remind everyone why we do what we do when we haven’t seen family or friends in a while.  Thanks again.

Sincerely,
