I am looking for anyone that has a child leaving for boot camp on Aug. 25.
I am starting to feel some anxiety. I think after cleaning his bedroom out it hit me harder than I thought it would. Seven more days and I am nervous for him. He seems to be fine....its me. lol

Left our son at the recruiter office today.
We are meeting him at meps tomorrow to see him off. I did good today by not crying at the recruiters office. We will see how tomorrow goes.
I am counting down until graduation too.
We will count together......LindaL
Well, I'm the first one up this morning - can't sleep. Today is "the" day. I think my biggest concern is no longer being available to my son as a safe guard. Who does he talk to if he has a bad day, or needs someone to weigh in on a decision, or a shoulder to lean on, etc. Letting go is certainly one of the hardest parts of motherhood so far. We're still not sure yet if a trip to MEPS is possible tomorrow. (We're in PA)
STAY STRONG TODAY MOMMAS! HUGS! :)
*If you want to add me on FB, my name is Sherry Silliman.
I feel the same way.....They have to grow up and fast. (I worry about that) but its out of our control now....feeling helpless. He is on his own now.
Hope you get to meps tomorrow. How far away is the trip for you from PA? Ours is an hour and a half so we are making the trip.
Hugs back to you Sherry!!
We dropped my son off today at the recruiters office...it went well
We will be seeing him tomorrow at meps so I think that helped me some knowing I will see him tomorrow.
Hang in there us moms are here to support you!!!
Stay in touch Korene......nice to have you here
Thanks go to:

Yes, Thank you so very much. This site is a blessing.
Just dropped him off at the Recruiter's office. Going to work from home today. Don't really feel like pretending to be a cool, collected, competent professional when I am just a (proud but) sad mommy today. He has made the right decision for his life, but it's hard to let him go when in my mind's eye, his is still the curly-haired toddler in my profile pic!
I feel the same way.....doesn't seem possible that he is old enough to be leaving.
I am proud but sad also......they will be men and women when we see them next:)
Stay strong....us moms are here for you.
