After months of being on hold and being done with a school since October, my husband just found out that the reason he is on hold and stuck in his a school location is because of student loan debt and I guess his car loan. It's less then 50000 but i understand that's a lot. I hate that were just now finding this out. I am freaking out because they told him he will be stuck there until this gets figured out meaning he pays off some debt. I miss him so much and was moving there but now I can't because I have to pay off some of his debt. He's also been so mean so this has just been hard. If you know any advice to give me or your sailor was in this position, I would appreciate anything. I want him to get out of there. He wants to get out of there. We've been together for 7 years and married before he even knew he was going to Join do the distance has been hard. My husband said he has to show proof that he's paying on his debt. I just need advice. I'm stressed!

I don't understand either. I wish I could personally speak to someone. He is still on hold.

What could be the problem? I have looked all over his credit report. Id something isn't right, do tell what it could be please.

I honestly do not know. I read his CR over and over. As someone who takes credit seriously myself, I can't see any problems with late payments or credit cards.

Curious how this is going for you now?

Update- My husband is clueless with what is going on. Every week he goes to the office. They never have anything. 2 weeks ago they told him he would be leaving. He started boot camp a year ago on the 28th. This has been the worst year of my life. He is a great and hard working guy. I just don't understand. He is now trying to see if he can change his rate. I wish I could go there and get answers. It's hard not being there. I feel like we're in a standstill.

I'm sure you have done all of this and I'm very, very, new to this military thing. However from reading everything I could possibly read and researching everything I don't understand have you talked to or your husband talked to the family liaison office place? It's not called that, sorry I don't know the real name of it maybe @lemonelephant can help with that but it's the office that provides support for the families and sailors with problems or questions they may have? Like I said I'm new and I'm sure you have done everything, but it's always been my understanding that they have to explain the problem and what needs to be done to fix it. Even the legal aspect of them not following his contract or vice versa should at least be talked about with the legal office. I hope you get answers.

-I hope this help :) I have contacted them personally and they have answered some of my questions.

Maybe have him meet with someone at his school regarding his finances. My husband was on hold but for diff reasons. But he met with someone regarding our finances & i guess your debt has to be under 10 or 15% of the income.

My husband and I have never heard that. We're definitely over that amount given the fact that we have 3 degrees between us and had to take out student loans. I imagine most people would not meet that requirement.

Update. I am at a loss. They told him they actually haven't even gotten to his paperwork yet. They told him that today. He is so down. Idk what to do.

That's awful!    Stay supportive.  It does happen that someone falls through the cracks.  Try to look at the positive side, he is being paid while he is waiting, and accumulating time in rate for advancement.
