As of June 3, 2016, the custom form for mailing to the military will change.
Do NOT use these forms any longer:
Form 2976 - this is the small one with 1 part of it green
Form 2976-A - this is the self carbon, 5 page form with a cover of instructions.

YOUR CARE PACKAGES WILL BE RETURNED!!

The new form is 2976-R.  They will be available at the post office as of June 3rd.

Click n Ship will still work.

You can also print the new form online but I think you will have to fill out each sheet

separately.  I'd wait and get them from the post office.

Here's a link for that:  http://about.usps.com/forms/ps2976r.pdf

We will wait a week or so before doing another group, so the PO can get the kinks out.

Please let me know if you have any pcs ready!

Thanks!

Has anyone gone to the post office to get the new custom forms?

today I heard from NJ and OH that their local PO doesn't have them nor  have them hear about it.  I have my local PO on the phone and they don't have them either!!!!

I did call the main number and have an investigation started.

YIKES!!!

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for chiming in!  Another state that isn't aware!  The change was to take place on June 3rd.  The problem is the PO workers don't know and don't have the forms.  Another gal posted in a group that boxes using the 2976-A form would be returned.

The main PO customer service are vague on that.  Vague doesn't work in  my world when we are talking $$.  So I have them start an investigation on this.  We are putting our wave mailing for this week on hold until I hear back from the "bigwigs".

I am holding them accountable for $$ if our boxes are returned.  I want it in writing.

I will keep you posted.

Dawn Tacony in Cedar Hill Missouri, suburb of St. Louis, here. I shipped to the USS Decatur on May 20, using form # 2976-A.
Just called my post office and she said still using the same form, and has had no notice of any changes.
I called the USPS today about my investigation!!!!  AND I got an answer.
I am also a skeptic so I asked for it in writing.  I should have that tomorrow,
so I will say that Wave 1 for the USS Wasp can begin on Friday, June 17!!!!
The gal I talked to today said that the letter that went out to postal customers,
which I never got either, was prematurely sent.
The customs form WILL change but there is not a date for that roll out as yet.
The gal said that we can use the old form of 2976-A still with no penalty.
I am so happy.  But I don't want to start until I have that in writing!
So get ready and we will be rolling 6-17 thru 6-20.  I have called about 8 times
on this because I am just unwilling to have our precious gifts returned to us.
Please confirm with me that you can  mail during any of these dates below:
wave 1   6-17 thru 6-20
wave 2   6-27 thru 6-30
wave 3   7-11 thru 7-14
Please bear with me.  With the delay, I just want to confirm everyone again. I
will send out the address tomorrow.
Thanks so much for your patience!!!
