OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A little about me:
My son graduated Navy basic training in January 2015 & he arrived in Pensacola, Florida for Air Traffic Controller 'A school' in April. Both my husband & I are Air Force veterans. I have a daughter who's finishing her freshman year in college at a university about an hour from home. I'm also a Christian. We attend church regularly & believe in praying for our troops

I am very proud of both of them and miss them both terribly. Especially now that I have to break some pretty devastating news to them. I recently found out I have cancer. I would like to tell him in person but distance & funds & time are making that difficult.
UPDATE: I had surgery in May to remove the tumors & a few lymph nodes. While 1 of the 3 lymph nodes had a malignant tumor in it, my dr said I will not need chemotherapy, just radiation.
I have just finished 6 1/2 weeks of radiation & hopefully at my next oncologist appt, she'll let me know if I'm cancer - free.

I wanted to let you Know that the Hospital can contact the Red Cross and Have a Message sent to him. This is what we did when My Husband had his Stroke and then it was a Matter of having him shipped Home, they took care of all the arrangements and all. If your Son has a cell phone you can contact him that way, this is how we got word to my Son then he gave us the Red Cross information and Red Cross contacted the necessary people and he was sent home. Hope this helps.
