I see you have joined San Antonio MA's; MA is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. The discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Your Sailor will fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Hi Kelby's Mom.  How is it going for your SR?  How are you doing?  I got a letter today and it was not so up beat.  What does you son tell you?  I can't wait till we get to see our guys.

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com. My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012. He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron. He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic. I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp. I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)

Be sure and check out the Survival Guide for Newbies…It has some valuable info you would like to know :) It can be found here: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/survival-guide-for-navy-for-moms-newbie

Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Kelby'smom!!  Did you get a call today???  I got a call and we had a nice talk.  He has made the turn and is doing wonderfully well today.  Still a bit homesick, but eager and enthusiastic and . . . . .just so great to hear his sweet voice!
