YIKES! 269 messages! I'm surprised you could get anything done besides reading messages! Steve is driving home, sharing the drive with a friend from Joliet. He thinks he'll get to leave the 22nd, then 14 hour drive. He's got to avoid the rock slide in NC. We are planning to go to Power school graduation. Steve has figured out it should be May 14. Enjoy having Jeff home for the holidays.

Yes - I would love anything you would be able to send. Thank you so much. Is this where I would leave my personal email address for you?

How was gradaution? Are you going to post any pictures?
By the way, how many weeks does Power school last? Steve starts indoc on Tuesday and we're trying to estimate when he might graduate, barring any setbacks.

Pat --

You are SO SWEET to try to do that for me!!!! We have been trying to get down there since Andy was supposed to graduate on September 25th however he got so sick and had to be rolled out of the class. Now he's back in and is supposed to graduate on 11/20. He was supposed to move right after graduation to BS. Then they moved his detach date to 11/30 -- so Andy asked that we wait and come for Thanksgiving weekend and then help him move on the 30th. Then the detach date got changed again to 12/10 -- so now he wants us to wait and come then to help him move. Which is fine -- BUT I AM SO ANXIOUS TO SEE HIM!!!!!! (As I'm sure you would be too!) So we are driving down from Minneapolis on 12/8 -- loading him up and driving him to BS on 12/10 -- helping him get settled there and then driving back to Minneapolis.

Is there a way we can connect more "personally" so I can give you more specific details to help you? I have no problem sharing my phone number or private e-mail -- let me know what you would prefer.

Again -- you are sweet! If this worked out for you -- that's great! If not, thanks so much for trying to help!

Oyster season in S.C.! Lucky you! Everywhere you go, all you can eat for $20! Boiled shrimp pots! Red Velvet Cake! Check out Magnolia's in Charleston for fancy-shmancy (they have 2 other restaurants that weren't open for xmas, all on the same street....that I don't remember the name of.) And Hank's Seafood Restaurant- we enjoyed them all, but locals may know more and better. According to the maintanance guy at my motel who is the son of a chef, these places all scored highly. Have a blast!

Hi Pat, don't come here so much anymore- well, never- the Northern Cal. and Ike groups keep me busy enough. I don't remember the links I followed to get here, but I thought while I was here I'd say hi. I see it is almost time for the kid to move on. Good luck with that- I LOVED Charleston and area, but Virginia is GORGEOUS! I still have to see if the food is as good as in S.C. Will LOVE doing the research. Take Care. P.S....flying back next month to spend xmas w/Jon- just like I did last year at Isle of Palms ( the sacrifices we moms must make!)

Pat, I'm so excited for you and your son! Is he happy? My son has been in DEP since May and even though his isn't looking forward to a long term commitment, he is looking forward to moving on to a better life. This waiting in-between stage isn't easy. I was really doubtful that he would end up getting in early, but it helps me to know he'd/I'd have 1-2 weeks to get ready. I'm teaching now as a second career. I've taught 4th and 6-12. I think I like middle school best. Lots of changes during those years. Have a great trip. I look forward to hearing how everything went.

Good Morning Pat! Can you believe it - we are just days away from being there! I am praying for our boys (excuse me: men - they will always be boys to us huh?)! Talked to Garry last night - sounded good. Worried about one section of the comp. He was approved for classes during hold - what about Jeff? What are his plans? Is he moving off base? I can't remember what you said.
Let's keep a constant prayer going for them from now thru Tuesday!
Looking forward to meeting you! God Bless
