Who else has sons/daughters that arrived to boot camp 7/29/15?

Hi there! My name is Tracey and our son arrived to boot camp also 7/29! We just received his box of items 8/4 in CA. but there was no letter and no ship/division number. Have any of you received this info for this group yet? Our daughter did this two yrs back so we've got some prior experience But I thought her box had the address.

Trying to hunt down his ship/division info so we can start sending mail to him....they rejoice when they receive mail!

My daughter left to boot camp July 28th

My only child, my daughter left to boot camp July 28th. It's been very hard every day since. I have been crying every day. I raised her as a single mother. My heart feels so heavy. I don't even want to go home from work anymore because my place feels so empty without her now. It hurts to even look at her stuff or even walk pass them. To make matters worst her dog is missing her so much too. Sometimes he'll go sit by the door wait for her to walk in. He's been sulking around a lot too. Just…

Waiting ... Final call so close

Busy week this week, movers started packing our house hold goods today, yesterday received a call from my SR, were so happy hear his voice and that he was doing alright. Everything is set for PIR weekend, hotel is booked, bags are packed... All what's left now is THE CALL... "I'm a Sailor". I'm so excited. Hope I made the right decision driving such a long distance.

"The Box"

I missed the FedEx delivery on Friday, decided to take the day off today as I just couldn't wait anymore to get "the box." Well, I just got it. Once I signed for it, I broke down in tears, I miss my son so much that my heart hurts. It's been an overwhelming ride, I know he's in good hands and yet I still can't get over all these emotions. I'm praying for better days to come. God bless you all!

Feeling Less Nervous

We got our formal letter over a week ago.  We now got a written letter from him and a phone call this week.  That definitely makes you feel better when you can hear their voice and be reassured that everything is ok.  He sounds like he is enjoying things.  It seems very different with him not home but, listening to his excitement on the phone telling us all that he is doing really helps you feel better and so proud.  Only a few more weeks till graduation. Can't wait!!!

Son left 7/29. My heart hurts.

I put my baby boy on a plane to Great Lakes on Wednesday,July 29th.He hadn't slept for 2 nights and was so nervous he was throwing up. I haven't seen my son cry since he was little, always playing the tough guy role, but he cried so much that day that I truly thought he would be coming back home with us. I'm so very proud that he got on that plane and followed his dreams in spite of the pain he was feeling at leaving his friends and family behind to train to serve our country. My heart hurts so… Continue
