Happy, happy, Joy, joy! I have looked at her letter, address and the information contained herein more times than what would be considered normal. I have a sense of peace now that the letter arrived. I just got back from the post office where I mailed 8 envelopes, containing 13 total letters. I told her I would number them so she would know the order written in. I am fine if she does not write back since I know that sleep is a premium and her free time, exceedingly limited.

I just got a call from my son!! So he said he only has 15 minutes and he would like to call his Dad also, then asked if I could be mindful of the time for him. His sister was with me at the time, so on to speaker phone he went...
He sounded a little bit like he was getting a cold, or recovering from a cold. He was very calm, and steady paced in his talking. He already sounds more mature. I immediately felt proud!
I remembered that they get loaded up with so many…Continue

Well it's been 5 days I will soon be able to send Jace a letter letting him know I have kept my promise , NO eating out and exercising regularly. I have been watching videos on You Tube of the first week and what their going through. You know, it helped. I think it is true, It doesn't get easier You get stronger as a Navy Mom. Just as our kids are getting stronger. Stay strong Mom's <3
Day 2 of boot camp for Jace and no eating out plus exercise daily for me. We all know Boot camp is not easy or we assume it isn't. Well not eating out is not easy for this Mom. I would eat out twice a day at least 3 times a week and once a day almost every day. Good lord, now that I say it, it sounds absurd.
So I told my son I will not go out to eat for the next 8 weeks and I will exercise…Continue
Our recruiter, who also checked with his Chief, told us to have our sons permanent retainer removed (you know the one they get after braces). He saw the Navy Dentist at boot camp and come to find out, he did not have to have it removed. I looked this question up before we had it removed and I could not find anything. OH well, once he gets to A school he can have one put back in- provided my son remembrs to do just that (and finds the time). How can we spread…Continue
I can't believe I was home (just now) and by the phone to get a 2 min. phone call from my daughter. Sounds like she's doing fine..... made my month. From Robin aka Bree's mom
My Boot camp/Graduation experience as a mom.
My son left June 14th 2012 for Great Lakes, he classed up right away, and maybe 3 or 4 Processing days and was put in a division to graduate on August 10th. (so 8 weeks and 1 day there)
I got the “I’m here call” about 10pm eastern time on the 14th. Got the box the following Tuesday, and the first mail didn’t come till July 6th. It was 17 days until his division could write, so…Continue
Just wondering if there are anyone mom's out there that have a son/daughter in this division. My son will be graduating on 8/3/12. One month left. I don't know where the best places to get a motel up there or anything. My son told me he has liberty that weekend, so i am happy for that. Just need some information on what will work out the best for our trip out there and stay.

Was the voice mail message left to me from my step son on Tuesday, January 11th. Oh how I hated that I missed that call, but the voice mail he left me made my heart smile. “Ms. Paulie, I passed my test! I’m gonna be a NUKE” my step son excitingly yells into my voice mail. “Call me back, I might miss your call I’m going to be helping my grandparents. I love you Ms. Paulie! THANK YOU for everything you’ve done for me!” (A voice mail message I will not delete from my…Continue

My SR is currently at RTC. I'm so proud of her decision to join the Navy, it's hard to put into words. What's even more difficult to express is the shock when I found out she was even interested. My SR is the middle of three children. She has a big sister and a little brother. She always felt as if her siblings were loved more than she was, even though that couldn't be further from the truth. When she was a toddler, her peditrician actually diagnosed her with "Middle Child Syndrome." …Continue
