I don't think I have stopped smiling since Saturday 5:24cst.  Our son was able to call us and we spoke for 32 minutes.  We were super stoked and I will say I definitely believe in Mother's Intuition because all day I kept telling my husband "he's going to call us today"!  We were getting ready to head to a graduation party and I sat on my bed and said, "come on phone freaking ring from IL".  About 20 minutes later BOOM it was him calling.  It was so refreshing to hear his voice.  For minute there I heard that 3 yr old lil voice from years ago then realized Wow this is our son.  First thing I heard was, "MOM" eghhhh my heart was fulfilled!  His brothers came running and they were so excited to hear all about his journey thus far. He sounded really good and said the Div guys he's with are good guys and they've been learning and working hard.  He said he really likes the food and that he's been eating well and esp. enjoys the fish meal.  I asked him he's gotten yelled at and he said, "mom we all do" and giggled. He said he doesn't have blisters because he wears double socks, but some of the guys have bad blisters.  He said he has his new Navy issued glasses and said he can't wait to wear his own glasses.  LOL  He yelled the dogs names and of course they heard him and looked around for him.  Silly Dogs!  He told his dad Happy Father's Day and my husband lost it and started to cry.  He wanted to know the latest world news and we just talked and talked.  He asked for index cards that way he can use them to study and for more stamps.  He said he's mailed us,but we haven't received his letters and he hasn't received our 10 letters either and has only received 1 Sandboxx letter we just did on Wed night.  I thought that was typical and asked to be patient because he's going to be receiving a lot of letters.  Overall, the phone call eased our minds and brought a lot of joy to us.  He's doing well as we expected and we're looking forward as a family to stay on this journey with him.

Pokey1042 This is Amazing Sweet news! I am so glad that he is doing well that is important. Now Momma you can ease up on the worry and tension and know he is doing and achieving Great things. This is always a plus in my eyes. for those that have blisters they can be sent Moleskin (Pieces) in the envelope with letter. but he seemed to get around that Smart Kid! I'm really Happy the Brothers were able to speak to him, it must be a big change for them too. If you send those things I would do a few at a time or he can buy index cards at the NEX but I would send stamps in evelope with the letter. Way to Go! keep us posted, love hearing the Great News!

Phoenixmom he asked for me to send him those small powder single packets of Crystal Delight for his water bottle in the evening. I don't think I should! He said I could put it in an envelope with a letter. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Pokey1042 I wouldnt chance it he may get into trouble, he can purchase it at the NEX himself. they get to go to NEX and purchase things they need. Just explain that certain things cannot be sent thru Mail.

Yes, I told him over the phone and also I sent him a letter last night.  He'll just have to get it at the NEX himself.
